Hey, it's already August!
Well, there’s nothing particularly special about welcoming August compared to other months, but I just wanna make a big deal out of it, LOL. That said, when it comes to my Hive journey, I feel like I’m starting this month with a few changes here and there on the platform.
First, I’ve started engaging with others through Snaps and Waves again. I took a break for a few months and was only posting occasionally, and I feel like I missed out on a lot of the vibes during that time. Back then, I wasn’t really aware of what the community was buzzing about. I remember when Snaps and Waves first launched, those features were where users shared their insights, daily updates, news, and even the most mundane things about their lives.
I still think short-form blogging here on Hive is a great use case that more people should participate in. It’s quick, and sometimes even informative.
Now that I’m back to snapping and waving, I’ve noticed not much has changed, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Aside from seeing some new users posting, the apps themselves have pretty much stayed the same, and honestly, that’s okay because they work just as well as anything you’d find elsewhere.
In terms of the number of Snap and Wave posts, it feels like it’s pretty much the same as when I left. But that’s a good thing. It means there's consistency. At least the users of these apps have remained active throughout, which is a great sign. Hopefully, as we onboard more new users, they’ll start participating in Snaps and Waves too.

On a more personal note...
I want to welcome August by buying a few things for myself. Some of my clothes are starting to look like they’re ready for retirement, LOL, especially the ones I wear to work. So I’m planning to do a bit of shopping over the weekend. I’ve already received my salary, and I’m currently working on a budget plan, setting aside some money for a mini shopping spree. :)
Of course, this feels essential. I need to do something that makes me feel like I’m taking care of myself, you know? Well, that depends on one’s personal view, but for me, it really helps. And actually, I’m not alone. Others are doing the same. I even read in Snaps that one user is planning to buy a $5,000 sofa for themselves, which they totally deserve, especially after working hard to earn the money. Why not buy something that brings comfort, right?
August feels like a fresh chance to reconnect, refresh, and reward ourselves in small but meaningful ways. Whether it’s getting back into the Hive groove or treating myself to something new, I’m excited for what this month brings. Here’s to making the most of August—one Snap, Wave, or shopping bag at a time!
