The ordinary objections to performing deeds seemingly repugnant fail to constrain man from wholehearted self-sabotage. Everywhere humanity is seen to engage in activities and entertain ideologies almost entirely self-defeating in nature. Here and there solitary individuals snap up their drooping necks from the nod-off of continual fear-opium combusted for them by the willing hands of slick media gripping a cigarette lighter embossed with a trendy slogan, yet more often than not fall back into dull reverie while political idealists on either extreme gently pat their back, whispering sweet nothings into the unfortunate one's ears — whom all things considered you might be tempted to envy, should ignorance really equate to bliss.
The war is going on in the drunk's subconscious; his body in mediocre stasis, his nerves sludged with the cold fire of intoxication. The deathly pallor of his slack countenance seems to excite the mirror neurons of his neighbor, even several kilometers away in his own sweet matrix dopamine-pod. Before one knows it, a world of bejeweled-coffin-lounging creatures revolves languorously in the diaphanous ocean of the cosmos. Who are the babysitting medicinemen that counterbalance a world of fever dreams — and do they still bear the scars of their installed plugsite at the back of their cranium? Where do they abide now, after unplugging?
This entire scenario of indulgent desperation is great pleasure to the youthful, enterprising soul come to visit a pale blue dot to see what heaven can be brought down, what hell raised. To omniscience, the greatest adventure must be complete, honest stupidity. Wisdom is arrived at gradually, reluctantly, after a few billion years — on average. There are always outliers that spurn the integrity of any statistic.
No one willingly destroys that which is irrevocably theirs; while the mischievous child in one happily graffitis another's property and scurries away with duping glee. Such is the behavior of humans, acknowledging thereby their indifference to temporary integrity of forms and figures, yet allowed to experience the exhilaration of raw terror in the dream one is convinced is real. Aberrations in the dream's continuity are quickly rationalized and a complete faith in the solidness, the primacy, the dominion, of matter rapidly reinstated. The gap must ever fill, and for that, we must have gapfillers.
The most atrocious idiocies from an intellectual perspective function as the most basic, innocent expressions of creative genius from the vantage point of lovingkind-acceptance. The more divorced from decency an entity seems, the more irresistibly it glows with the watermark of dangerous spirit-liberty that flaunts its immortality. Meanwhile, there are unheard augurs in caves of pinnacles, huddled in mesa-crevices, and couched in dense jungle. Whether they bear their plug-scars or not is unknown and irrelevant. It is not that they denounce the lesser tragedyworld of brainwashed addiction to falsehood by their withdrawal but that they chose to conjure the necessary courage to open their eyes and look full into the face of the one holding a pipe to their mouth, encouraging them to self-poison.
At which juncture, they beheld then the unexpected, the indistinguishable, the homogenous — and laughed: spoke thought and felt truly for the first time. That honey-freedom forever ruined the acquired taste of acrid gall and bitter smoke. Where are the lie-whisperers now?
