My mom @steph-lynn invited @flowerbaby and I to learn the technique of rolling sushi. Of course we accepted the invitation with great excitement. @flowerbaby had never eaten sushi before, but I had many times in the past.
I wore one of my favorite Japanese shirts for the occasion, all I was missing was an authentic headband. That and the skill to roll well. I was not good at this at all, it was quite frustrating actually. I kept putting too many ingredients in my rolls. @flowerbaby on the other hand figured out the right proportions quickly. This led to both my dad @grandsalami and I both doing more eating of the sushi rather than rolling.
Thank goodness our women were productive with the rolling process. This created an abundance of sushi rolls, all of which were quite larger than the ones you would find at a typical Japanese restaurant. We each tried a variety of different combinations of rolls and paired it with yum yum sauce & pickled ginger. Soy sauce and wasabi were both available for us, but I personally didn’t use either.
I probably wouldn’t rush to roll sushi again anytime soon, but I am definitely glad that I can say that I at least have tried it before. I’m even more happy that I finally got @flowerbaby to eat sushi for the first time. I’m sure we both will remember this experience for the rest of our lives.
