A Few Photos From My Short Walk & One Ugly Photo

in GEMS4 years ago

Hi All! Today I want to share a few photos from a short walk that I took at Cromwell Valley Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. I did three very short walks on this same day but didn't get far on any of them which brings me to the ugly photo that I'll show at the end of my post. The ugly photo is from the accident that I had last month and the reason why I didn't make it very far on my walks. The photo shows just one of the bruises from that accident and I'll explain more when I get to that photo. So beware! If you don't want to see it then you may just want to skip my post. Now, let's look at some nice photos!

I could not have asked for a more beautiful day! We (husband, son and I) headed out early also to try to beat the heat some.

This next photo was taken far away. My husband spotted a couple of deer jumping in the field and I caught a quick look before they disappeared. I waited for them to pop back up again but they did not. I took a photo anyway of the area they were in and I was still happy to have seen them.

I also saw two butterflies and a sad yet beautiful moth. I saw this Monarch butterfly and this Red-spotted Purple butterfly.

This is the poor moth that was laying on the edge of the asphalt walk way. I wondered if a bird or two tried to get him. I felt so sorry for the beautiful moth laying in the hot sun so I carefully tried to pick him up to, at least, put him in a shady spot with flowers. When I touched him, he tried to fly and I guided him over to a better spot out of the sun. I'm sure he probably died there but hopefully it was a nicer spot to live out his time.

I made it just over this bridge and by the one of the old barns that is in the park. I say old barn because it is old but it is very well maintained which shows in the photo.

Right about here I started having a lot more pain in my chest and had to turn back. I did stop a few times to take a "breather" and snap more photos of course.

sublimesunday72620209ok.JPG

I was amazed at how many wineberry thickets that we saw! Yet..I only snapped two photos of them including this one!

I love this spot right here! It is the Hawk Watch area and there are benches and a couple of picnic tables. It also is a bit more shady which I took advantage of all of the above..lol.

From this spot I was also trying to get photos of a couple of squirrels and birds that were at a feeder not very far away. I took a few photos on the way in as well but I could see much better from the shady spot.

I thought this was an odd looking Cardinal. He almost doesn't look real but trust me..he was. Maybe he was still young but he just has a different look about him or maybe he had just finished having a bath in the water nearby.

Anyway, this is the last photo from my little walk and you may be able to tell from it that the temperature was really starting to rise from the haziness in the air.

sublimesunday726202016ok.JPG

Now for my ugly photo! As some of you know, I'm not much into taking selfies but I wanted to show you why I've had a lot of chest pain from the accident. This is the bruise I got on my stomach and this was after it was looking better. It also only shows the bruising on the front but my sides were bruised also. Imagine that bruise but worse on my chest and now you know why I'm still having quite a bit of chest pain. I go back for another follow-up with my doctor in three weeks. It was suppose to be two weeks but my doctor is on vacation the second week. It does feel like my heart hurts at times and I mean that literally. The hospital checked my heart three times and the doctor says the pain is from the bruising and inflammation from the accident. This was caused by the seat belt and impact but if it weren't for the seat belt then I know I wouldn't be here to tell you this right now. I spent most of Friday in bed but I know that isn't good for me either but I was in a lot of pain that day pretty much all over. Saturday morning I felt a little better. I will tell you something funny though and maybe you can look at that ugly bruise and have a little laugh over it. My father in-law saw my bruise and said it kinda' looks like a fish. Honestly, I do see it..lol! 😂

sublimesunday726202017ok.jpg

I know..I know! Not really the selfie you were expecting and I'm not saying an actual selfie would be much prettier...hee hee! Gotta' laugh! 😁

Thank you @c0ff33a for #sublimesunday!!

Thanks so much @pixresteemer!! 💞

Beautiful photos, they were quite relaxing. That's quite a bruise omg 😂 I hope it heals up quickly 🙌

Thank you very much @boyro!! It is a beautiful area! The bruise has started to noticeably fade within the last few days. 🙂

Oh my goodness. That's some bruise. I fell over a style at the weekend. My bruised knee is nothing in comparison to yours! You win! ☺ Heal quickly.

Thanks @ellenripley!! I hope your knee is feeling and looking better! 💕

Scrolled through some beautiful pictures and bam a nasty bruise 😄 . Can't say I wasn't warned though. Hope you get well soon.

Thank you very much @the100!! Lol..once seen it can not be unseen. It has started to fade more in the last few days..still hurts but looks a little better now. 😉

That last shot in the post is definitely worthy of the warnings you prepared us with. I am amazed that you are up and about taking hikes , I would have to think that the bruise on your chest is similar to the one shown and just breathing would make that hurt nonstop.
Great scenery and photos. Your area sure has some awesome park areas. Thanks for sharing them with us
Get well soon!

Thanks so much @sultnpapper!! They are more walks than hikes and on level ground. I can't really hike much anymore. I also took a lot of photos from stationary spots with the zoom. Coughing hurts the most and any jarring movement. The doctor said I need to take deeper breaths when breathing to avoid getting pneumonia. Sure don't need that right now especially with this plandemic. This walk along with the others were so short and I honestly haven't been feeling like going out at all but my husband knows it cheers me up some and it did even if it was short. 😊 💖

The last thing you need right now is lung problems that's for sure. How is your husband and son doing from the wreck?

Hi @sultnpapper..true and then they will try to say it's covid! My husband still has pain in both his shoulders but feels as does the doctor that it is just soreness that will take some time to get better. My son goes back to his doctor mid August. He's had and still has quite a bit of pain in his shoulders and back mostly. Doctor doesn't think anything is torn but may send him for more imaging and or physical therapy. Hoping he feels better by then though. 🙂
Thanks for asking and have a great day! 💖

That was one hell of a wreck. I wish all of you folks a speedy recovery.

First: That was a cool walk and the butterflies are just beautiful, also the moth, although it sadly was dead. I'd love to have such a place called "Hawk Watch" 😄

I think the Cardinal looks funny 😁

Then: Believe me, this photo isn't ugly and I can't see a fish 😉
I could show you photos from the knees from my son after his motorbike accident 2 years ago. They still look kind of weird, but please don't tell him 😉

Have a great week, @deerjay ☀️

Thank you very much @johannpiber!! It is a nice little area and a good spot to rest a bit. I felt bad for the pretty moth but I was happy to get him out of the sun at least even if it didn't change its fate. 🤔
I'm sorry to hear that about your son! I know exactly what you mean! My sister had to have her ankle and foot put back together after a motorcycle accident and my husband has a most impressive scar (along with many others) from a car wreck years ago. I don't go out on motorcycles anymore but use to. I do admire seeing some of the bikes though. Got to see lots of them last year during "Bike Week" in Ocean City, Maryland. 😊 💖

Good morning @deerjay, you are most welcome 😊

Motorcycling is a dangerous hobby and you have to take care of yourself and also watch the other people in cars and on bikes, but I love it and because you have been riding yourself you know why 😁
There are always thousands of motorbikes during the yearly "Bike Week" we have at a small lake nearby, and although it will not happen this year, many bikers have said they'd come anyway.

Have a wonderful day and week, @deerjay ☀️

Thanks so much @johnnycopper1!! I don't blame you there although I do love the Autumn colors! 🍂 😉 💕

Ouch @deerjay, so sorry you are in pain. Seatbelts are both good and bad aren't they?

Thank you @angiemitchell!! Yes they are but mostly good in many cases. 🙂
