Togetherness is uniformity in thinking, working and implicating in real work, in Indonesia we call it Gotong-royong. Even so, one of the local wisdoms in Indonesia was starting to disappear by the era of time, although in a number of villages, it still seems obvious, not so in urban areas.
One of the togetherness [Gotong-royong] that is still evident in our villages, it's can see when a wedding party or other traditional event will be held. The people here still prioritize "gotong-royong" for successed of an event. In contrast to urban areas, each job has to be employed by workers for a fixed fee.
In our villages, gotong-royong is an icon in the success of a traditional ceremonial, if it was not able to be succeed and make the host ashamed to the invited guests, there was a kind of customary law in force, the village apparatus and its members have the same moral burden as the host of the invited guests.
Different tasks, if the villagers work together to complement each other's work. Like the mothers, they predominantly work in the kitchen preparing various spices and dishes to serve to invited guests. The fathers prefer to cook rice and soup, the rest welcome invited guests. Whereas young people work as a part of equipment - preparing tents, providing food and checking stock, and washing dishes in the ceremonial party.
Interestingly, all of the villagers will not go home before the event is over time, and clean up everything, unload the tent, bring all village equipment back to the warehouse, and inform the host that the event is over and we have successfully held it together.
