Hoy les traigo una anécdota que también puede ser un importante consejo para aquellas personas que tienen en casa este tipo de planta decorativa, es muy linda pero déjenme decirles que es peligrosa tanto para las personas como también para los animales en especial los perros.

Cuando me la regalaron la verdad es que desconocía hasta su nombre , científicamente se conoce como DIEFFENBACHIA y me encantaba porque en cualquier parte de la casa donde la coloque se veía muy bonita, todo el tiempo que la tuve no había tenido ningún tipo de inconvenientes o algo que me hiciera sospechar lo toxica que podía ser.
When it was given to me the truth is that I did not even know its name, scientifically it is known as DIEFFENBACHIA and I loved it because in any part of the house where I placed it it looked very beautiful, all the time I had it I had not had any type of inconvenience or something that made me suspect how toxic it could be.
En estos días se le rompió una rama y decidí arreglarla, le corte otras ramas , recogí del suelo todas las hojas que le había quitado las coloque en una bolsa de basura. Mi mayor sorpresa fue que a los pocos minutos me comenzó dar comezón en los brazos y las manos, era un malestar desagradable al punto que por mas que evitaba rascarme no podía, en la noche casi no pude dormir, me levantaba a cada rato a lavarme los brazos porque el agua era lo único que me calmaba la comezón y el ardor.
These days a branch broke and I decided to fix it, cut off other branches, picked up all the leaves I had taken from the ground and put them in a garbage bag. My biggest surprise was that after a few minutes my arms and hands began to itch, it was an unpleasant discomfort to the point that even though I avoided scratching I could not, at night I could hardly sleep, I got up every time to wash my arms because the water was the only thing that calmed my itching and burning.
Al otro día fui al medico, lo primero que me pregunto fue por lo que había comido ese día y luego con que había tenido contacto, cuando le comente sobre la planta el me dijo que se la describiera y su diagnostico fue de inmediato, tienes una alergia por contacto a causa de esa planta ya que ella es toxica, cuando se quiebra una de sus ramas esta expulsa un liquido que es peligroso incluso me dijo que si alguien se comía o llevaba a la boca una de sus hojas podía hasta envenenarte.
The next day I went to the doctor, the first thing he asked me was what I had eaten that day and then that I had had contact, when I told him about the plant he told me to describe it and his diagnosis was immediate, you have an allergy by contact because of that plant because it is toxic, when one of its branches breaks it expels a liquid that is dangerous and he even told me that if someone ate or took into his mouth one of its leaves could even poison you.
A causa de esto decidí botarla, pero una vecina me dijo que se la regalaba, incluso le conté lo que me sucedió y al parecer ella tiene una igual, ha tenido contacto y no le ha sucedido nada, bueno también puede ser que hay personas que somos mas sensibles que otras.
Because of this I decided to throw it away, but a neighbor told me that she was giving it away, I even told her what happened to me and it seems that she has one just like it, she has had contact and nothing has happened to her, well it could also be that there are people who are more sensitive than others.
Por casualidad hace pocos días estaba viendo el programa Caso Cerrado que se transmite por el canal TELEMUNDO con la Dra. Polo y justamente llego un caso a consecuencia de una planta como esta, una persona estaba denunciando el peligro que implica tenerla en casa y mas aun cuando hay niños y animales.
