Yesterday morning I woke to the bright golden rays of the sun blaring around the curtains in our room. This is what I saw outside.
It was crisp and cold out and the wind was blowing a bit from off the lake as we went for a walk around city beach. The water is super low in the lake and the ice was built up for quite a ways. Every dock sat on the sand and we could see the water line way up on the rocks from summer levels.
Canadian goose butt and wing print in the snow where it landed.
The water line was a long ways out from the shore and I can't remember seeing the lake quite as low.
You can see the top of Schweitzer mountain and the ski runs from down town Sandpoint.
Made the obligatory visit to the mini statue of liberty on the pier.
The geese were all hunkered down against the cold wind and grumpily moved away as we walked by. They didn't seem to happy to be moving about.
After the biting cold of the walk we headed down to the pool to warm up in the water. Far fewer people this time as all the kids were off in the tournament and the hotel was quiet. Where R is walking, on the left in the hall is the sauna which I made sure to spend time in.
The pool has a great view out to the lake and in summer the windows all slide open to give a nice open air feel.
Once we were done swimming we got packed and checked out then went to goo get food. The place wasn't open yet so we went across the street to Foster's Crossing antiques to browse. I saw this cool old autoharp and was plinking on it a bit. Pretty wild, like a mini piano.
This just made me laugh. This pin cushion with the bunch of Asian forms around it. Seemed a bit inappropriate and made me giggle.
We got a few things then headed back across to Matchwood Brewing for food and to fill our growlers.
The place has a pretty cool ambiance to it and they have some really delicious food.
After we ate we headed for home and soon were back on the farm. It's nice being only an hour away but still having the "trip" feel to the adventure.
Once home we quickly unpacked and I had to get the hose in to fill the tub. Thankfully it was a bit warmer so the hose was thawed. It took a while for it to get warmed up again so we weren't able to get in till dark. I had to get the trailer hooked up and ready for this morning as I had grain that was waiting in town.
I had a fire going in the pit and we had a couple of Bison steaks that I grilled for our dinner. They came out insanely delicious as always and super tender.
Finished our night off soaking in the super full tub.
It snowed a bit this morning and I've already been to town and dumped the grain. I'm stoked as my welder will be here tomorrow, which I still need to figure out a power plug for it since it will need to run on 220v. Likely more organizing around the house today and waiting for an update from @zirochka. It is such shit to be unable to do anything but watch from half way round the world as so many lives are forever changed or ended.

I haven't been to Foster's Crossing for years! I need to fix that. Glad you had a good weekend outing. Today is a good day to be home and out of the weather.
