¡¡¡ Saludos queridos lectores y amigos !!!

Con toda esta situación, de educar a mis hijas en casa por la cuarentena, mi trabajo se ha quintuplicado. Las maestras, viviendo al máximo, su nueva experiencia de dar clases on-line, han decidido explorar al máximo su creatividad. En el caso, de la maestra de mi hija mayor que cursa 5to grado, entre otras ingeniosidades, ha instaurado el VIERNES CREATIVO, y el límite es el cielo. Reconozco que, en esencia la iniciativa me parece buena, y en mi caso particular, hasta me he divertido, apoyando a mi princesa mayor. Sin embargo, para nadie es un secreto, que lo que estamos viviendo no es normal. Y sé, que les vengo diciendo, que, por nuestro bienestar psicológico, debemos dentro de lo que se pueda seguir con nuestras vidas, de la mejor manera posible. Pero, asimismo, hay que estar consientes, que los padres en casa, contamos con recursos muy limitados, para realizar las actividades escolares, de nuestros pequeños. Cualquier proyecto, por más pequeño que sea, implica ingeniárselas para poder llevarlo a término.

With this whole situation of educating my daughters at home because of the quarantine, my work has increased fivefold. The teachers, living to the full, their new experience of teaching on-line, have decided to explore their creativity to the full. In the case of my eldest daughter's teacher who is in 5th grade, among other ingenuity, she has set up CREATIVE FRIDAY, and the sky is the limit. I admit that, in essence, the initiative seems good to me, and in my particular case, I have even had fun, supporting my older princess. However, it is no secret that what we are experiencing is not normal. And I know that I have been telling you that, for our psychological well-being, we must continue with our lives in the best possible way. But we must also be aware that parents at home have very limited resources to carry out the school activities of our children. Any project, no matter how small, implies that we have to be able to carry it out.

Definitivamente, este último punto, creo que las maestras no lo han entendido. El caso, es que cada semana, es una odisea distinta para cumplir con la tarea del VIERNES CREATIVO. En esta oportunidad les compartiré, la experiencia de la primera semana de la iniciativa, propuesta por la maestra. Como ya han podido apreciar, en la fotografía inicial, el primer proyecto fue realizar un tapaboca o mascarilla. Ya en una oportunidad, había realizado unos, de hecho, les compartí un pequeño tutorial, hace unas semanas atrás. Pero, ¿qué les parece?... el modelo que realice, en esa oportunidad, por su forma no me servía. Resulta que, no era cualquier tapaboca, este debía tener un diseño alusivo a el eslogan de #QuedateEnCasa.

On this occasion I will share with you the experience of the first week of the initiative, proposed by the teacher. As you have already seen, in the initial photograph, the first project was to make a surgical mask. On one occasion, I had already made one, in fact, I shared a small tutorial with you a few weeks ago. But, what do you think?... the model I made at that time, because of its shape, was not useful for me. As it turns out, it's not just any surgical mask, this one had to have a design alluding to the slogan of #StayHome.

Así que, de nuevo toco acudir… a la que todo lo sabe, y si no lo sabe, lo inventa. La fabulosa y todo poderosa INTERNET, era necesario encontrar un nuevo modelo de tapaboca, que permitiera hacer lo que pedía la maestra. Como se suponía, que era un trabajo realizado por mi hija de 10 años, que, por cierto, no sabe nada de costura. Además, me toco enseñarle, las nociones básicas de la costura a mano, por la premura. Porque, a máquina imaginen, necesitaría más de los aproximadamente 6 días que teníamos de plazo para entregar la tarea. A la final, el proceso fue relativamente sencillo, y como la mayor parte del tapaboca, se realizó con costura a mano. Ustedes, no tienen excusa de realizar el suyo en casa. A continuación, le coloco los materiales y el procedimiento que seguimos.

Paso 1:

Una vez, que selecciones el modelo de tapaboca que se adaptaba, a los requerimientos solicitados por la docente. Se copió en papel, el patrón encontrado en el Internet, para luego, transferirlo a la tela y cortar cada una de las piezas. Se cortaron cuatro piezas iguales, dos correspondían a la parte externa del tapaboca y las otras dos a la interna.

Step 1:

Once you have selected the surgical mask model that fits the requirements requested by the teacher. The pattern found on the Internet was copied on paper and then transferred to the fabric and cut out each piece. Four equal pieces were cut, two corresponding to the external part of the surgical mask and the other two to the internal part.

Paso 2:

Se tomaron dos de las cuatro piezas, estas corresponderían a la cara externa del tapaboca. Como la mascarilla debía tener un mensaje alusivo al eslogan #QuedateEnCasa, en una de las piezas, se escribió con marcador el mensaje. Me hubiese gustado bordarlo, pero tenía que hacerlo mi hija, y no disponíamos del tiempo para que aprendiera a hacerlo. En la otra pieza, se nos ocurrió, colocarle una especie de escena simple, que mostrara una casita y un arbolito. Eso se logró, haciendo un dibujo muy sencillo, luego se cortaros las piezas en unos retacitos de tela, que encontré y mi hija los cosió a mano.

In the other piece, we came up with a kind of simple scene, showing a little house and a little tree. This was achieved by making a very simple drawing, then I cut the pieces into small pieces of cloth, which I found and my daughter sewed them by hand.

Paso 3:

Ya colocada la decoración, se tomaron las dos piezas y se ubicaron derecho con derecho, de las piezas. Es decir, la pieza donde colocamos el mensaje, frente a la de la casita. Se unieron, con una costura por la parte curva, al darle la vuelta, se formar la cara externa del tapaboca. De igual manera, se hizo para la parte interna del tapaboca.

Step 3:

Once the decoration was in place, the two pieces were taken and placed straight from the pieces. That is, the piece where we placed the message, in front of the one in the little house. They were joined, with a seam on the curved part, when turned over, the external face of the mouthpiece was formed. In the same way, it was made for the internal part of the surgical mask.

Paso 4:

Seguidamente, se colocaron las dos piezas juntas, teniendo en cuenta, que quedara mirando hacia adentro, el lado donde le colocamos la decoración. Seguido, se basteo por todo el borde, dejando un espacito sin coser, para poder, voltearlo. Una vez, se le dio la vuelta a la pieza terminada, en los extremos se le coloco la respectiva cinta elástica. Finalmente, el tapaboca ya estaba listo, para presentárselo a la maestra.

Step 4:
