Hola amigos de GEMS, en esta ocasión les vengo a explicar el cómo y porque me adentre en el mundo de la barbería.

Todo comenzó como cualquier día en Venezuela, tratando de conseguir un ingreso medio estable, y se me ocurrió probar en la barbería, por lo que realice un curso de 3 meses los martes y jueves, el que consistía en nosotros llevar los implementos y ellos ponían las lecciones y los modelos, pero para poder realizar el curso de buenas manera se necesitaba tener una maquina cortar cabello, una capa (con la que se cubre a la persona), una tijera, una navaja de barbero.

Como no tenía nada, recordé que mi tía (por parte de mi mamá) hace unos años había comprado en uno de sus viaje una maquina Wahl taper, y se la pedí prestada y como le explique para que la quería me dijo que como esa ni se está utilizando me la presto de manera indefinida, la capa como las que conseguía estaban caras y no tenía suficiente capital, mi otra tía (también de parte de mi mamá) al ser ella costurera me hizo una con una tela que tenía guardada, la tijera y la navaja de barbero las compre con el poco capital de estudiante que tenía.
As I had nothing, I remembered that my aunt ( on my mother's side ) a few years ago had bought a Wahl taper machine on one of her trips, and I asked to borrow it and how I explained to her why she wanted it, she told me that she didn't even like that. It is being used, I borrow it indefinitely, the cape like the ones I got were expensive and I did not have enough capital, my other aunt (also on behalf of my mother) as she was a seamstress she made me one with a fabric that she had saved, the I bought scissors and a razor with what little student capital I had.
Cuadre el horario de la universidad de tal forma que me diera chance de poder llegar al curso, me Salía un poco antes de finalizar las clases que terminaban a mediodía y salía corriendo a tomar el ruta (transporte público) para llegar a tiempo (a la 1p.m.) al curso, siempre trataba de llegar de primero para poder elegir una silla donde estuviera más cómodo para trabajar y tener espacio suficiente para poder moverme alrededor de la silla.
I squared the university schedule in such a way that it gave me the chance to get to the course, I left a little before the end of the classes that ended at noon and ran to take the route (public transport) to arrive on time (at the 1 p.m.) to the course, I always tried to arrive first so that I could choose a chair where I was more comfortable to work and have enough space to be able to move around the chair.
Las dos primeras clase no explicaron lo fundamental, como las partes de la máquina, los dos tipos de cortes con maquina (sencillo o degradado), como debíamos agarrar las tijeras (para después no tener el síndrome del túnel carpiano), de qué forma debíamos cortar con la tijeras (ya sea en la parte de arriba y los laterales de la cabeza), como colocar la capa, algunas reglas de sanidad (ya sean para nosotros y para los modelos).
The first two classes did not explain the fundamentals, such as the parts of the machine, the two types of cuts with a machine (simple or degraded), how we should hold the scissors (to later not have carpal tunnel syndrome), in what way we should cutting with scissors (either on the top and the sides of the head), how to place the cape, some sanitation rules (either for us and for the models).
El curso fue transcurriendo y en cada clase hacia entre 3~4 modelos, no era un corte especifico a cada uno, sino que cada uno describía como quería el corte y la instructora no decía como debía de hacerse, siempre que tuviéramos una duda le preguntábamos a la instructora.
The course went by and in each class there were between 3 ~ 4 models, it was not a specific cut to each one, but each one described how they wanted the cut and the instructor did not say how it should be done, whenever we had a question we asked her to the instructor .
Ya ha sido más de un año que realice el curso y de vez en cuando le corto el cabello a mi papá, mis tíos, y uno que otro amigo.

Lo que más me gusta de esta profesión es el cómo se usan ciertas técnicas para que el cabello se levante de cierta manera, se vea más suelto, se vea más estilizado, aunque la mayoría de los conocimientos y técnicas que he aprendido han sido a través del internet, como siempre trate de saber la mayor cantidad de detalles de las técnicas antes del cortarle en cabello a alguien (para no trasquilarlo), aunque no es la profesión principal que tendría, me parece una profesión muy linda y fascinante.
What I like most about this profession is how certain techniques are used so that the hair stands up in a certain way, looks looser, looks more stylized, although most of the knowledge and techniques that I have learned have been through From the internet, as always, try to know as much detail as possible about the techniques before cutting someone's hair (so as not to clip it), although it is not the main profession I would have, it seems to me a very beautiful and fascinating profession.
Aunque siempre estoy en aprendizaje (lo cual es lo mejor, ya que nunca se aprende todo), siempre trato de probar algo nuevo para ampliar mis conocimientos.
Even though I'm always learning (which is the best, since you never learn everything), I always try to try something new to expand my knowledge.
