Dear Hivers,

I welcome you to the Hive Bootcamp Hub Family and I want to assure you that if you are new to Hive, then this is the right place for you to be because we will educate you on the basics of Hive and how to earn as a content creator on Hive.

No doubt, a good number of you have been on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if not all. Infact, some of you are addicted to these Web2 platforms. What you don't know is that you are generating money for them by wasting your data and time on those platforms without getting anything in return.

How about if you could earn some bucks (I mean dollars) for doing those things you do for free on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the likes? This is exactly why you are here and that is why web3 platforms like Hive have been created by some passionate and dedicated community members.

What is Hive

Hive is a blockchain-based social media platform where you get rewarded for posting contents, commenting and engaging with other users on the platform. The reward are given in form of Dollar for each upvote on the articles and comments you post. Hive is a blockchain-based social media platform that was forked out of Steem some months ago after the Justin Sun saga.

How To Get Started On Hive

If you already have a steem account, then all you need to do to access your Hive account is login with your Steem account details (I mean the username and private posting key) to start creating contents and earning. you can also access it through a third party app like Peakd and Esteem.

If you don't have a steem account before, You can open a new instant Hive account at HIVEONBOARD. It takes just 1 minute to get your account ready and make sure to download, save and backup the document keys you would be given.

I Have Signed Up, What's Next?

The next thing is to put up an Introductory post about yourself. I mean you should introduce yourself as a content creator to the entire Hive community so we all can have an idea of who we are dealing with. An introduction about yourself, your lifestyle, why you are on hive, what you would be posting about and any other thing you think you should share with the community would be good. In your introduction post, make sure to add some nice pictures while at that to spice your introduction post.

You can use this as a guide to structure your introductory post

Your introductiory post should contain the following:

  1. A little info about yourself,
  2. Why you joined Hive,
  3. How you joined Hive,
  4. What you do and your hobby backed up with pictures, and
  5. How you intend adding value to the Hive platform.
  6. You can also acknowledge whoever introduced you to Hive if you like.
  7. Make sure to use these tags for your introduction post - #introduceyourself #hive #posh #introduction
  8. Tweet the link of your introductory post on Twitter and tag #posh #introduction #hive
  9. Copy the link of the tweet and post as a comment on your introductory post on Hive.

How To Earn On Hive?

Hive is not for the feeble-minded. You have to be very strong, consistent and determined to earn something tangible on Hive. However, I need to let you know the fact that your post is 2000 words and of high quality doesn't really guaranty that you will still get rewarded on the post. But the good news here is that Hive Bootcamp Hub is got some tips that we think should help.

Hive also have communities just like Reddit where you can publish your articles. Most of these community are taking some good steps to help minnow like you earn on the Hive platform for their quality contents.

There are two main community I will be laying focus on in this particular article and we will sure be bringing more to your ways in the coming articles.

1. OCD community

2. GEMs Community

These two communities (OCD and GEMs) do well to upvote some quality contents on a daily basis most especially when they find out a user is very consistent on the platform. I've studied these two communities and I think with the tips I will be giving out on them, you should be able to grow on Hive together with putting your consistency and passion for writing into work.

I notice they tend to upvote quality articles that are mainly on Art, photography, lifestyle and other various niche. I did examined a good number of articles that belongs to minnows with low reputation before coming up with this observation. However, I have to let you know that getting rewarded is still not guaranteed even after you follow these tips. These tips include the following:

1. Arts

Not everybody can be artists. So, this might not really be an option per say. However, if you are fortunate enough to be an artist, then you are good to go with posting your artworks in these communities. Just make sure you don't plagiarize and be consistent and active on the platform because consistency and engagement is another thing they look at before rewarding your articles.

2. Photography

I know not everyone can take good photograph. But then, I think it is still very possible for you to learn how to take good photographs. Learning this shouldn't take much time. And while posting photographs, it has to be backed with some good word length of let's say a minimum of 200 or 300 words would be okay. I also observed that you don't have to be too professional at taking photographs before you can leverage this opportunity. A clean, clear and well taken picture is enough. Don't forget the pictures you upload must be the ones taken by you. It must be original when you are trying to show your photographh skills.

3. Lifestyle

When I talk about lifestyle, I mean your daily routine. What happened to you while at work, How you prepared that delicious and palatable lunch you had for the day, How you visited the museum or a restaurant and lots more. I'm sure you know you have to back this up with photographs you took while at it.
I mean some of the pictures you took while preparing the food; pictures you took while you visited the museum or restaurant and stuffs like that.

These tips on posting in the OCD and GEMs Community is just as a start for you all. There are still other great communities such as Bdcommunity, Inkwell, OnChainArts, ProjectHope and StemSocial that also do well to curate quality articles and we will sure be giving out some interesting tips on each of these communities in the coming Hive courses.

Other ways which you can earn on Hive is mostly by participating in contest, giveaways and also by curating. We discussed more about this in a video which we will be dropping soon. So, you might want to be on the look out for this too.

In conclusion, just make sure to put up quality articles following the tips I dropped, follow the right people, be consistent and I pray there is good luck on your side.

Disclaimers: This tips were done based on our own personal research and the fact that you follow them doesn't guaranty that you will be rewarded on your posts. This post was only meant to be used as a guide.

That's good to know. Make sure to join our Discord Server pls.

I will and i will tell all my referrals to join also

You people are great guys. God bless.

Some good advice, but I am not so sure about relying on OCD and GEMS. It is important to make connections with actual people who will vote for you and engage with your posts. If you just worry about making money then it can be less fun. Use communities that are actually about the topics you post on.
