Hello! How are you today?

About 4 years ago I had made a design to get tattooed, I drew on paper an anchor, representing my grandfather (he was a marine) since I was bothering him that I would get the same anchor tattoo that he had (yes, he had tattoos).
Then on February 28th of the following year, my grandfather had medical complications and passed away.I didn't get the tattoo that my grandfather and I had been talking about for so long. I had already improved the design of the tattoo, where I included some roses and a life preserver to the design, so I could represent my two grandfathers. I was so hurt by his dead that I completely forgot about the tattoo and the design, I never found it again.
Luckily, a few months before the event, I was talking to my cousin about the design and that all of us cousins were going to get it done, since we are a close family. I sent him the photo and after so many years, he still had it in his gallery.

Hace 4 años aproximadamente había realizado un diseño para tatuarme, dibujé en papel un ancla, representando a mi abuelo (El fue de la marina) ya que yo lo molestaba con que me tatuaría el mismo ancla que el tenía (si, tenia tatuajes).
Después el 28 de febrero del siguiente año, mi abuelo tuvo complicaciones médicas y falleció. No me hice el tatuaje del que tanto le hable. Ya había mejorado un poco el diseño del tatuaje, dónde le incluí unas rosas y un salvavidas al diseño, para poder representar a mis dos abuelitos. Estaba tan dolido por su partida que olvidé por completo el tatuaje y el diseño, nunca más lo encontré.
Por suerte unos meses antes del suceso, estaba hablando con mi primo sobre el diseño y que todos los primos nos lo íbamos a hacer ya que somos una familia unida. Le envié la foto y después de tantos años, aún la tenía guardada en su galería.

I wouldn't know what to say if you asked me why I made the decision to get the tattoo again. It was just that I felt ready and wanted to leave a mark of my grandparents on my skin.

I talked to a tattooist friend of mine and we got down to work on the design, he started with printing the photograph at the agreed size which would be about 10x8cm or so. After that we were fixing a little bit the tattoo design, improving many details of it.

No sabría qué decir si me preguntan ¿Por qué volví a tomar la decisión de hacerme el tatuaje? Fue solo que ya me sentía listo y quería dejar una marca de mis abuelos en mi piel.
Hablé con un amigo tatuador y nos pusimos manos a la obra con el diseño, el empezó con imprimir la fotografía del tamaño ya acordado que serían unos 10x8cm más o menos. Luego de eso estuvimos arreglando un poco el diseño del tatuaje, mejorando muchos detalles del mismo.

After finishing the design, we went to the leather and started with the lines of the design.

Luego de terminado el diseño, fuimos a la piel y empezó con las lineas del diseño.

Then to finish, he wanted to add details of shadows on the tattoo, to give it that magic touch of the tattoo, using a technique of pointillism that he had recently learned and perfected.

Luego para terminar, quiso agregar detalles de sombras en el tatuaje, para darle ese toque mágico del tatuaje, usando una técnica de puntillismo que había aprendido y perfeccionado recientemente.
