A few days ago I shared with you about a pregnant sow and how I was preparing to receive the litter of piglets that would be born from her. Almost three months have passed, most of the piglets are now in their homes under the care of other owners, and since I have here some pictures of their development I thought it would be good to talk about their care and growth.

Al momento de sus nacimientos estaba muy pendiente para recibirlos, limpiarlos y acomodarlos en una pequeña cesta a parte con una luz de bombillo que les diera calor para que cobrasen un poco de fuerzas y poderlos poner a mamar de su madre.
There were 7 piglets born on June 27th; 6 males and one female.
At the moment of their births I was very attentive to receive them, clean them and place them in a small basket with a light bulb to give them warmth so that they could get some strength and be able to suckle them from their mother.
Tres días desde del nacimiento procedí a descolmillar cada Lechón e inyectarlos con una dosis de 1cc de Hierro (Ferrobil). Cortamos los colmillos para evitar los mordiscos a la ubre de la madre y que esta llegara a rechazarlos, así mismo la dosis de hierro ayuda a fortalecer el desarrollo de los lechones y fortalecer su sistema, pues la leche de la cerda contiene muy baja presencia de este componente.
Three days after birth I proceeded to de-hive each piglet and inject them with a dose of 1cc of iron (Ferrobil). We cut the fangs to avoid biting the mother's udder and that the mother would reject them. The dose of iron also helps to strengthen the development of the piglets and strengthen their system, since the sow's milk contains very low presence of this component.
A los 14 días volví a inyectar Hierro a los lechones. Ya para esa fecha estaban aprendiendo a comer compuesto sólido, así que les daba un compuesto especial para ellos (Iniciador).
At 14 days I injected the piglets with iron again. By that time they were learning to eat solid compound, so I gave them a special compound for them (Initiator).
Al cumplir un mes de vida los destete, para ese entonces ya se valían por si solos en cuestión de alimentación.
Al momento del destete los desparasité suministrándoles una suspensión oral de Albendazol al 1% y al mismo tiempo inyectándoles nuevamente Hierro.
A los 35 días ya estaban listos para ser vendidos con un peso aproximado a los 10kg.
When they were one month old I weaned them, by that time they were already self-sufficient in feeding.
At the time of weaning I dewormed them by giving them an oral suspension of Albendazole 1% and at the same time injecting them again with iron.
At 35 days they were ready to be sold with an approximate weight of 10kg.

Estos animalitos me encantan pero cuando estan pequeños son tan hermosos, en casa mi hermano tiene una cria de estos ya bastante grandes.
Es una lastima que no cuente con un espacio grande para la cría de estos sino los tendría.
