Hola comunidad. Hoy quiero mostrarles como hice una jaula o paridera para una cerda en proceso de parto. Espero que les guste y pueda ser de provecho para todos ustedes.
Ya tengo unos años desarrollando un proyecto basado en la producción porcina. He tenido muchas experiencias con esto, tanto buenas como no tan buenas. Unas de esas experiencias "no tan buenas", es que he sufrido la mortalidad de lechones a varios días de su nacimiento, esto se debe a que los lechones durante la noche buscan acurrucarse muy pegados de su madre para calentarse y tal acto en ocasiones termina con la muerte de algún cerdito producto de la asfixia del peso de la madre sobre ellos.
Así que investigando un poco sobre el tema, he decidido prepararme para recibir prontamente a una nueva camada de lechones. Lo mejor para evitar éste acontecimiento descrito es la utilización de jaulas para cerdas o paridera, donde el animal tendrá su espacio al igual que los lechones para desarrollarse por lo menos los primero 15 o 20 días de vida.
Teniendo en cuenta los materiales requeridos para fabricar una paridera o el recurso económico para comprarlo y estar totalmente escaso de ello decidí nuevamente utilizar mi ingenio para fabricar una. Aquí les explico:
Tome las medidas convenientes dependiendo el tamaño de la cerda.
1.70 metros de largo, 40 centímetros de ancho y 1.20 metros de alto.
Tomando estas medidas, corte 4 palos gruesos que sirvieron se base, 6 varas que utilice a los lados y que fueron el largo de la jaula, igualmente para ancho 6 varas más pequeñas. Busque alambre, clavos y me puse a construir.
El proceso fue rápido, comencé enterrando las bases.
Lo siguiente fue asegurar las varas de los lados con alambre y luego clavar. Se hacen ambas cosas para asegurar bien la paridera, pues las cochinas tienen mucha fuerza.
Es importante dejar para último el espacio por dónde entrara la cochina, al estar dentro se debe asegurar bien, cerrando cualquier espacio por dónde la cochina pueda salir.
Ahora solo espero unos días para el parto de mí cerda la cual estoy seguro que con el favor de Dios saldrá muy bien. Un saludo a todos.

I already have a few years developing a project based on pig production. I have had many experiences with this, both good and not so good. So, doing some research on the subject, I have decided to prepare myself to receive a new litter of piglets soon. The best way to avoid this described event is the use of sow crates or farrowing crates, where the animal will have its space as well as the piglets to develop at least the first 15 to 20 days of life.
Taking into account the materials required to manufacture a farrowing pen or the economic resources to buy it and being totally lacking of it, I decided again to use my ingenuity to manufacture one. Here I explain:
I took the convenient measures depending on the size of the sow.
1.70 meters long, 40cm wide and 1.20 meters high.
Taking these measurements, I cut 4 thick sticks that served as a base, 6 sticks that I used on the sides and that were the length of the cage, also for the width 6 smaller sticks. I looked for wire, nails and started to build.
The process was quick, I started by burying the bases.
The next thing was to secure the side rods with wire and then nailing. Both of these things are done to secure the nursery well, as the cochinas have a lot of strength.
It is important to leave the space where the piglet will enter for the last time, as it must be well secured inside, closing any space where the piglet can get out.
Now I am only waiting a few days for the birth of my sow which I am sure that with God's favor will come out very well. Greetings to all.
