Now is probably a good time to talk to Coinbase about a HIVE listing...

Coinbase may be more open now than ever before to altcoin listings...

We need to keep the pressure on Coinbase for a HIVE listing.

It likely has never been easier for an altcoin to get listed on Coinbase than it is right now.

They recently released a new report talking about how based on their findings, bitcoin is predominately the gateway to the altcoin market at least in regards to retail investors.

According to their findings, the majority of their customers buy bitcoin initially, but from there, only 24% continue to hold just bitcoin.

More than 75% tend to branch out into other assets...

Check it out:

Why does that matter?

It matters because now we know that Coinbase knows what the people want.

(I mean it's very likely they already knew, but now it's public knowledge that they know, which is a good thing)

It's a good thing for any crypto projects out there with an active user base that are looking at Coinbase for a listing.

Hmm... sounds a lot like HIVE.

Also they said this in their report which seems to hint that they know the value altcoins hold...

“To the extent we believe that alternative assets and networks will provide differentiated services (beyond store of value and digital gold as Bitcoin is targeting), it will be important for the industry to build support for these other assets as well.”

"Important for the industry to build support for these other assets"?

You don't say...

Sounds an awful lot like they will be looking for good altcoin projects to provide support for.

No reason ours can't be next.

Plus you know, there is a $10k bounty for anyone that can pull off a Coinbase listing for HIVE.

Stay informed my friends.

I'd love HIVE to be listed on a coinbase

Lets do it to make Hive stronger than before.

I think we should target kucoin first. They showed solidarity with hive movement.

I thought they picked up HIVE.

Am I mistaken?

If they have, I haven't seen it announced anywhere.

Neither steem nor hive is listed in kucoin.

i didn't find any hive update on their exchange

No reason we can't get it listed on both, but the point I was making was that Coinbase may be more open to a listing now than they were at any point in the past... They seem to be embracing altcoins now.

Okay fine

That sums up what I use Coinbase for. Although I prefer LTC for the purpose, it is nothing more than a gateway move to other tokens, in the past STEEM and now HIVE.

Hopefully there is a way to get a mass move started.

Any ideas other than just sending emails?

Not sure. I have sent emails in the past but it didn't amount to much. They have a coin application page that they say they want filled out by the lead development team. If we could get in contact with someone in management, perhaps we could sell them on the idea of our community lead project...

I still don't get what the buzz is about coinbase. Are they bigger than Binance, Bittrex and Huobi?

Coinbase holds more bitcoins that any other exchange. Plus they have a USD gateway, which has been their biggest draw. Also, US based users aren't even allowed to use Binance or Huobi at this point... and the US is currently one of the biggest markets in crypto. Coinbase tends to be the first place retail goes to get involved in crypto. Getting a listing on Coinbase has long been considered the holy grail in crypto for altcoin projects. Though, a listing on there doesn't carry the same weight it once did.

Oh okay, I get it and understand their importance. However, other than coinbase, aren't there other services that facilitate crypto to fiat exchange for people in the US?

In terms of Exchanges, there aren't many... only a handful. The good news is that list is expanding. Bittrex recently got added to the list of exchanges with fiat gateways.

Okay that's progress. Maybe if people stop paying way too much attention and giving coinbase too much credence, they might loosen their stance and take the stick out of their ass. Sort of like reverse psychology

Having #hive on Coinbase will benefit the community largely.
I heard so many weird news every time #btc pumps, Coinbase is having issues.
I used it daily. This is my entry to crypto with fiat.

Yea, they tend to go offline during extreme price moves which angers a lot of traders. Though most traders use Coinbase pro anyways.

Coinbase Pro has a lot lower fees... normal Coinbase is only good for storing crypto in their vault wallets...

Does Hive have all the bugs inherited from Steem already fixed? Does Hive have enough nodes to handle all the Coinbase users?

It might also be crucial for them to realize that, a good portion of people will probably enter the into the "crypto world' through sites like Hive (or Steem like I did 4 years ago) and use those initial crypto earnings to diversify, especially if they feel too timid or uncertain to begin with a cash investment.

Hive has the best chances now if community push the movement steem failed because there were no communication and updates but the chances are better with hive still hard but we all know what we all are capable of

Coinbase still sucks since they don't accept debit cards for purchasing any coins they serve.
