OATMEAL AREPAS
Hello everyone. Hope you’re all having a wonderful day. It’s been a busy one for me but I still managed to take some pictures to share them with all of you. There are a billion ways to make arepas and this is one of my favorites. If you’ve seen my previous posts you probably know how much I love oatmeal and also arepas. So these two together feel like heaven to me.
I love making them with oatmeal cause it's not only healthier but also the taste is great. I'm gonna show you step by step how I make my arepas. Hope you guys enjoy this.
First I grab a bowl and add a cup of water
Now it's time to work with the precooked corn meal
As you can see I add plenty of it (around 1/2 cup)
Salt for flavour
And now my favorite part: oatmeal. I just can't get enough of oatmeal.
This is how it looked once mixed.
Shaped them with my hands
Put them on a pan for around 5 minutes on each side at medium heat
And they're ready. I had mine with tuna, but they go with everything. I love eating them with cheese.
