Por aquí vengo a participar de la Iniciativa que me invitó mi gran amiga @annafenix y que trata sobre la Navidad, fecha que para muchos de nosotros es súper importante y que no siempre tenemos el agrado de pasarla en familia.
En esta ocasión debemos nombrar 3 cosas que acostumbramos hacer (como una especie de ritual) año a año en estas fechas, claro que pueden ser muchísimas cosas y que pueden ir variando de un año a otro, pero recuerda que el ser humano es un animal de costumbre y hay muchas cosas que ya las hacemos de manera casi natural. Asique busquemos en nuestra cajita de recuerdos y comencemos a contar lo que generalmente hacemos para esa linda noche paz y amor.

Here I come to participate in the Initiative that my great friend @annafenix invited me and that deals with Christmas, a date that for many of us is super important and that we do not always have the pleasure of spending as a family.
On this occasion we must name 3 things that we usually do (as a kind of ritual) year after year on these dates, of course there can be many things and that they can vary from year to year, but remember that human beings are a usual animal and there are many things that we already do almost naturally. So let's look in our box of memories and start to tell what we generally do for that beautiful night, peace and love.
1- Decoración Navideña
Él es Mauro, uno de mis hermanos, más precisamente el que me sigue a mí. Mauro nació con una discapacidad intelectual lo que le ha dificultado desarrollarse con total libertad en algunas áreas de la vida, sin embargo él se ha superado a sí mismo poniéndose pruebas que autosatisfacen sus necesidades, como por ejemplo: a él le gustan mucho las manualidades, asique ahora con internet él ha aprendido a manejar la computadora, entrar a páginas a investigar y ver el paso a paso de lo que le gustaría hacer y lo hace!. También se da maña con muchas otras cosas, cocina, limpia, hace los mandados, va solo a cortarse el pelo, va solo a sus talleres y cursos, se maneja casi como un adulto, con la diferencia de que vive con mis padres.
Bueno con Mauro nos encargábamos siempre de la decoración de Navidad en la casa. Comenzamos buscando las cajas de los adornos navideños y las luces, también sacamos el arbolito que se arma el 8 de diciembre, día de la Virgen, en conmemoración a ella se arma el árbol de Navidad y el Pesebre ese día.
Como me ha contado mi compañero que es venezolano, allí en su país adornan sus casas desde unos meses antes de diciembre, allí por octubre y el lugar donde va el árbol y pesebre es muy grande en la casa. Pues le dan una gran importancia a ese momento del natalicio de Jesús.
Aquí en el Sur del continente realizamos Pesebres vivientes en iglesias o plazas, es decir, hacemos una representación teatral del momento del nacimiento del niño Jesús y de la llegada de los Reyes Magos. Y en cada casa hay un pequeño pesebre representando el momento.
Pues bien, ahí les dejé unas fotos de mi hermano luego de la decoración.
1- Christmas Decoration
He is Mauro, one of my brothers, more precisely the one who follows me. Mauro was born with an intellectual disability which has made it difficult for him to develop with total freedom in some areas of life, however he has surpassed himself by putting tests that self-satisfy his needs, such as: he likes crafts a lot, So now with the internet he has learned to use the computer, enter pages to investigate and see the step by step of what he would like to do and he does it! He is also clever with many other things: he cooks, cleans, runs errands, goes only to cut his hair, goes alone to his workshops and courses, he handles himself almost like an adult, with the difference that he lives with my parents.
Well with Mauro we always took care of the Christmas decorations in the house. We started looking for the boxes of the Christmas decorations and the lights, we also took out the little tree that is assembled on December 8, the day of the Virgin, in commemoration of her the Christmas tree and the Nativity scene are assembled that day.
As my colleague who is Venezuelan has told me, there in his country they decorate his houses for a few months before December, there in October and the place where the tree and manger go is very large in the house. Well, they give great importance to that moment of the birth of Jesus.
Here in the South of the continent we carry out Living Nativity scenes in churches or squares, that is, we make a theatrical representation of the moment of the birth of the baby Jesus and the arrival of the Magi. And in each house there is a small manger representing the moment.

2- Preparación de alimentos típicos
Algo que nunca debe faltar es la preparación de alimentos típicos de nuestra cultura. Generalmente en las familias numerosas se suelen preparar animales de gran porte, es decir: lechones, corderos, terneros etc. a la parrilla claro. La idea es compartir el día cocinando con la familia para luego a la noche disfrutar de los alimentos ya preparados.
Se suelen acompañar de ensaladas por ejemplo de lechuga, tomate y cebolla, ensalada rusa: papa, huevo, zanahoria, arvejas y mayonesa o guarniciones como papas y batatas al horno, todo depende de la cantidad de comensales y el plato que se eligió.
Los postres navideños también son un ritual en casa de mis padres, pues mi mamá prepara siempre cositas muy ricas para compartir luego de la cena de Navidad. Generalmente hace budines con nueces, almendras y chocolate; de pasas de uva y ciruelas pasas; hace brownies de chocolate; pan dulce con almendras y nueces. Y mi especialidad es hacer helado casero con chips de chocolate, con almendras, nueces y maní picado.
Para brindar generalmente los mayores lo hacemos con champagne, con sidra o fresita. Bebidas alcohólicas para luego de la cena y del brindis, pues luego muchos solemos ir al boliche a bailar y festejar con nuestros amigos. En Argentina solemos consumir mucho Fernet Branca, cerveza de todo tipo y vinos de todo tipo.
2- Preparation of typical foods
Something that should never be lacking is the preparation of typical foods of our culture. Generally, large families tend to prepare large animals, that is: piglets, lambs, calves, etc. grilled clear. The idea is to share the day cooking with the family and then at night enjoy the food already prepared.
They are usually accompanied by salads such as lettuce, tomato and onion, Russian salad: potato, egg, carrot, peas and mayonnaise or garnishes such as potatoes and baked sweet potatoes, it all depends on the number of diners and the dish that was chosen.
Christmas desserts are also a ritual at my parents' house, as my mother always prepares delicious little things to share after Christmas dinner. She usually makes puddings with walnuts, almonds and chocolate; of raisins and prunes; she makes chocolate brownies; sweet bread with almonds and walnuts. And my specialty is making homemade ice cream with chocolate chips, with almonds, walnuts and chopped peanuts.
To toast generally the elderly we do it with champagne, cider or strawberry. Alcoholic beverages for after dinner and the toast, because then many of us usually go to the bowling alley to dance and party with our friends. In Argentina we usually consume a lot of Fernet Branca, beer of all kinds and wines of all kinds.
3- Prepararme para la noche de Navidad
Como suele ser una reunión familiar de festejos, intentamos vernos de la mejor manera, pues si tenemos la posibilidad de comprarnos alguna prenda que nos guste, sea un vestido, un par de zapatos o lo que fuera para completar el outfit que vamos a usar esa noche, también puede ser algún accesorio que nos haga falta, pulseras, collares, anillos, etc., eso sí, a todo eso debemos comprarlo unos días antes de la fecha, pues ese día explotan los comercios y lo más lindo ya no está en las góndolas. También pensar en el cabello, las uñas, el maquillaje, etc.
Aquí arriba les dejé una foto con mi mamá que me encantó lo que se eligió para ese año, amo el color amarillo y ella que siempre está tomando sol para esa fecha ya está súper dorada y contrasta muy bien con ese color!

3- Prepare for Christmas night
As it is usually a family reunion of celebrations, we try to see each other in the best way, because if we have the possibility of buying some garment that we like, be it a dress, a pair of shoes or whatever to complete the outfit that we are going to use that night, it can also be an accessory that we need, bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc. the gondolas. Also think about hair, nails, makeup, etc.
Up here I left you a photo with my mom that I loved what she chose for that year, I love the color yellow and she who is always sunbathing for that date is already super golden and contrasts very well with that color!

Ese calor familiar se vive constantemente en mi casa, somos una familia numerosa y por lo tanto ruidosa pero lo mejor es que el amor que sentimos se percibe siempre por todos los que alguna vez nos acompañaron en la mesa.
