5 Questions That Plagues Every New Blogger

Hi guys, so my intention is to make this post for people I onboard to Hive and anyone who finds the nuggets shared within here useful, I don't know much people within my immediate environment who blog as often as I do and for the time frame I've been doing it so this is subject to bias from my experience, this is to also answer most common questions I get the most frequently from people who get to know about me or my blog or/and are about to get their feet wet in blogging.

I've titled this post as 5 questions that plague every new blogger, if you've ever found yourself asking any of the questions below, this post is relevant to you.

"How do you always know what to write?"

"How do you write consistently?"

"How do you know a post is good enough?"

"Will anyone read or like my post"?

"What message am I passing?"

Find an interest - Something must be of interest to you, a lot of people tell me that when it comes to writing for the first time, there's this reluctance they feel about letting out their thought's to the public especially in a topic they aren't too versatile about. I have a very simple solution, keep it simple and in your interest, it could be a very uncommon topic, it doesn't matter, the point is that it interests you and you feel the urge to tell someone about it, you might just be surprised.

A lot of time, people who've stayed long enough in writing started off with a different interest than what they're presently mostly writing about, we phase as humans. When I started writing, I could go on writing about poetry everyday because I found the idea interesting and the art quite satisfying, connecting with other people who also had interest in poetry came easy. I later phased into technology and I'll probably be there for a very long time or the rest of my life, all due to my interest.

Write like you're talking to your friend rather than like you're talking to yourself, because if you're talking to yourself, you already understand your concepts to an extent, you will subconsciously skip some bits of information and this can actually affect the fun and depth people have when reading your work, make your writing fun to read.

For someone like myself, most of my offline friends zone out when I engage them in topics that interest me especially when it comes to blockchain technology, so when I'm writing, what I try to do is create a perception that I'm actually having a discussion with them in my head, and they're giving me full attention, twisted with a bit of creativity, if your gists are normally boring, then you have a chance to recreate it to taste while writing.

Whatever you create is filled with energy from your soul, same goes for writing. If you felt excited while writing it, that emotion is likely transmitted along with that writing, likewise when you're sad, so continually remind yourself that you need the right energy to go with your creation, before you hit that post, till it becomes a part of you.

Take in a deep breadth and try to focus. Most of the time we already don't feel good about what we've written before we hit post, then we blame ourselves for all the negative emotion that ripples back on the post, sometimes a post is just your immediate emotion and nothing else.

Writing for me began as a sort of an escape from many horrors I was passing through at some point in my early life. I wrote down thoughts I found funny with no one to share them with, I wrote down thoughts that intrigued me and sounded interesting to myself, I wrote my fears, I wrote down my ideas, I sketched a lot, only my diary knew the girl I was in love with in college, I've found myself zoning out in class and writing or sketching away many times, I've never for once thought the time will come when that thought process will be open to the world, let alone earn for it, it makes me imagine what's next in this evolution of life, my life. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to its full potential as I continue to evolve and the world of technology also continues to advance.

Most times my writings are as real as they get because I aim to document my real journey and in doing so each post bears the convictions of that present moment and are subject to be upgraded as required by further experience. Some times I write to entertain people, other times myself, mostly to inform. Sometimes I end up confusing my readers, other times I end up confusing myself.(joking)

So whatever your motivation is matters a lot, why do you want to do it? Your answer determines what your drive will be, why you wake up every morning to think about it, and get up to it. I hope I have passed some message here. Most of all be free with your thoughts and enjoy yourself.

In conclusion, I cannot over emphasise the need to build an audience, which evolves around going to connect with other bloggers, based on similar interests or personal adventure, here on Hive, we all have a common interest, crypto, which further shifts into tech, further shifts into economy, and other lesser buzzing interests, Hive offers the most advanced platform that connects different users from different parts of the world into one socio-economic ecosystem where anyone can thrive, so why not?

Thank you for reading, let's bear in mind that there's no one shoe size fits all for everybody, other people may have different ways of discovering their process, this is my opinion and bias, perhaps it might be useful to someone.

Cheers....and stay safe out there!!!😷😷😷😷😷...

Update I came across these posts this morning that explained more about Writing, it perfectly cushions this post and will likely cover questions yet unanswered in here.

Great...alright...thanks too

Totally agree with the point you made about writing like your talking to a friend rather than talking to yourself. For me, I think I better express myself when I write than talk so when I have an idea it just flows naturally.

In blogging/writing,we shouldn't try to copy someone else's style. A little inspiration from others is necessary but best stick to yours and you'd flourish.

For me, I think I better express myself when I write than talk so when I have an idea it just flows naturally.

The thing with me when i write is i probably criticize myself too much and over edit the best stuff out, but sometimes when im sure that i was in my full zone while writing a particular piece, I dont even go back to read, It just keeps flowiiiiiiiiiiiing....and it comes out good. Sometimes one paragraph might take an hour!lool

Creating a niche makes it easy to get topics to write. Writing could become easier when notable and cogent points are jotted and later developed.

Cheers!

Sometimes I want to jot a congent point, I end up writing the whole post! The tin go just carry me like spirit, I no go fit stop!

But i agree to jotting for later developing. I hate the times when i forget to jot and the idea disappears!!!!i feel like crying lol

Totally true. I've been struggling to pick a niche, as well as to stay within the bounds of that niche.

Well I appreciate the opportunity to be flexible first as a new user, till you find where you're more comfortable at.

You hit the nail on the head. I had this issue when I started out here and believe me sometimes I still get blank when I have to make a blog. Thanks for the reminder. 😘

Lool, just set your stage in your pace, and enjoy yourself...

Thanks for your comment.

One sentence I have for this post "I struggle a lot, still and most of the time I am blank, puzzeled and just write whatever my mind says".

Writing whatever your mind says also works fine, I enjoy some of your posts I read...your mind must be quite interesting

I wish I could write here what my mind is all about.. :D hehehee.. By the way great writing .. :)

Hehehe... that reminds me, you are oweing us some posts.... 😝😁

Thank you Pri

I think I forgot :P :P

This is nice. I started writing when I joined this community (then steemit) in 2018.
One of my problem them is what to write. So I started writing base on life my experience and things around me before I knew it writing became easy to me.

Thanks for this beautiful piece
