So my cover photo is of one of my Edison lights. They are pretty cool and when you dim them, you can see the artistic styling of the filaments. They are not cheap, nor efficient, but I guess there is something to be said for aesthetics.
No I am not getting into a battle of the neatest fridge coz we all know @dswigle wins that hands down. This here fully stocked and fully functioning freezer is featured to show we are back in business now that our power is back on. Thank you Consumers Energy, we were only out from 5am till 2:30pm. Not too shabby. Everything kept frozen, so I am happy.
We have been getting more than our share of wind and rain. Every day Alexa tells me there is a flood warning!
I know I never appreciate how much we rely on electric in our day to day life - until it is gone. Of course my neighbors have the nat gas generators, but I am way to cheap (and broke) to do that... But gee, they sure are nice!
I totally get where they get the meaning from the expression of: When it rains, it pours. Not only did I wake up to no power, then I had a ding dong working as a teller at the bank... Then I was cooking up a huge dutch oven full up of pulled pork and I fell asleep and awoke to the melodous sounds of 10 smoke detectors proving that they still all work! I hope tomorrow is better for us all :)
