We love seeing these amazing creatures!
Right here on our own homestead, a beautiful creatures lives. It's not a butterfly or bird, although we do have those as well, but a stunning serpent, the Ringneck Snake. While they have a modest olive-colored back with a nice, light ring around their neck, it is the belly that really makes these creatures pop. A blaze orange belly transitioning to a vibrant red, with little rows of black dots running the length of their underside. As a defense mechanism, they'll coil their tails and flip them over, effectively holding up a striking shield of red, which can definitely intimidate would-be attackers. This also presents a nice photo op. Enjoy the photos!
