As you may already know, I am an English teacher and I love teaching, since I entered the career in 2012 I loved learning and transmitting knowledge in a didactic way attracting students and keeping them engaged in class. It is an arduous task because there are many factors that intercede to make this process unbearable. Many people a little younger than me and even older have asked me to recommend where to start if they just want to learn to speak it fluently, others are interested in reading them to learn to read books, others want to know what their favorite songs say and others want to know how to have a chat conversation with another English speaker.
Mi respuesta, la mayoria del tiempo, siempre es la misma: todo está conectado. El aprendizaje de la escritura esta conectado a la lectura asi como el habla conectado al aprendizaje de saber escuchar. No puedes aprender una separada de la otra, todo viene en un conjunto. Muchas profesores quizás no estén de acuerdo conmigo pero, si quieres dominar completamente el ingles y llegar a ser fluido ninguna de estas 4 habilidades deben trabajarse de manera individual
My answer, most of the time, is always the same: everything is connected. Learning to write is connected to learning to read just as learning to speak is connected to learning to listen. You can't learn one separately from the other, it all comes together. Many teachers may not agree with me but, if you want to fully master English and become fluent, none of these 4 skills should be worked on individually.
¿Cómo aprendo?
Si bien, hoy existen miles de opciones que te ofrecen un sin fin de cursos que te aseguran que lo hablaras de manera fluida en tal lapso de tiempo, no toda la publicidad que ves es cierta. Se basan en solo hacer atractiva la propuesta pero la realidad es otra. La mayoría tiende a tener la misma falla: usan métodos anticuados de repetir y enseñar gramática a través de frases que no tienen sentido y no las aplicarías en tu vida diaria. Sin mencionar, uno de los aspectos más importantes: el estudiante. Cada persona es un ser individual con su propia manera de hacer y ver las cosas, esto también debe ser considerado y tomado en cuenta a la hora de adquirir una nueva lengua, así que la publicidad de ‘’aprende a hablar inglés fluido en 3 meses’’ no es para todos.

Each person is an individual being with their own way of doing and seeing things, this must also be considered and taken into account when acquiring a new language, so the advertising of ''learn to speak fluent English in 3 months'' is not for everyone.
Dependiendo de tus requerimientos, mi recomendación siempre va ser la misma: elije un curso presencial en el cual te asegures que obtendrás clases con contenido nocional que podrás poner en el práctica en cualquier aspecto de tu vida. Con profesores que sepas que tienen años de experiencia en la materia y estén actualizados en los métodos de enseñanza, donde importes tú y respeten tu ritmo de aprendizaje, te guíen y tengan paciencia si no es lo que ellos esperan. Aquellos que con amor te enseñen la lección las veces que lo requieran. Tu facilitador jugará un papel importante en como asimiles y pones en práctica lo que se te está dando.

A pesar de que hoy en día se está utilizando el internet para el desarrollo de las actividades en el salón de clases, aun existen profesores que solo se limitan a una grabadora, 1 lápiz y un papel, a veces pienso que enseñan formulas importantes de química que no se debe olvidar, o el valor de una ecuación de física que siempre será el mismo. La enseñanza de la lengua forma parte del currículo de humanidades y educación, cosa que no parecen entender estos colegas que aun siguen en el pasado o se rehúsan a actualizarse a lo que estamos viviendo el día de hoy.

Entonces, ¿Cuáles son las actividades que son aseguran una buena enseñanza? Hay que ponerse creativos, en mi caso, me gustan las obras de teatro. Al hacer al estudiante cambiar su vestimenta, aprenderse un papel y actuar, estamos enseñando sin que ellos se den cuenta, ya que es una de las maneras más dinámicas de aprender entonación, ritmo, pronunciación, vocabulario, historia sobre el idioma sin mencionar que se lleva a cabo el aprendizaje cooperativo entre los estudiantes. Otra dinámica son las presentaciones de tema libre; los estudiantes escogen el tema del que más disfruten hablar, sin limitaciones, se le enseña a investigar y prepararla de manera ordenada para presentarla. El uso de material visual es imprescindible, tratamos de hacerlo lo más dinámico posible haciéndole preguntas sencillas que estén en la capacidad de responder, hacemos participar a sus compañeros para que los estudiantes sientan más confianza a la hora de hablar.

Lo cierto es que, el contenido didáctico, así como el que lo dicte, desarrolla un papel importante en la motivación del estudiante. Mantener un joven entretenido y comprometido en una clase es una tarea complicada hoy en día. Si consideras que puedes aprender por tus propios medios, te recomiendo que empieces a usar toda la tecnología que te rodee: teléfonos, televisión y relojes inteligentes. Hay apps que puedes descargar, videos que ver y siempre habrá personas dispuestas a aclarar tus dudas porque siempre es importante a quien recurrir sobre todo si se está empezando. Todo se consigue con la motivación que se tenga para aprender y para conseguir lo que se quiere.
The truth is that the didactic content, as well as the teacher, plays an important role in the student's motivation to learn. Keeping a young person entertained and engaged in a classroom is a complicated task nowadays. If you consider that you can learn by your own means, I recommend that you start using all the technology around you: phones, TV and smart watches. There are apps you can download, videos to watch and there will always be people willing to clarify your doubts because it is always important to have someone to turn to, especially if you are just starting out. Everything is achieved with the motivation you have to learn and to get what you want.

Es digno de admirar alguien que tenga sentido de superación y que quiera aprender un nuevo idioma, cual sea tu motivación para hacerlo, nunca es tarde para emprender este viaje donde también conocerás no solo el idioma, sino la cultura al cual pertenece. Al querer comenzar, debes buscar las mejores opciones que se adapten a tu tiempo y presupuesto tomando en cuenta los parámetros que te mencione al principio: un profesor apto para enseñar y contenido didáctico actualizado, y por supuesto: tu motivación, el impulso que te ayuda a lograr lo que deseas.
