I am not a US citizen, but it is impossible not to express my opinion on the events that have been taking place for the past seven days in much of the United States. Protests over the death of George Floyd, killed by police officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, garner worldwide attention for the degree of violence with which he engages.
No soy ciudadana Estadounidense pero es imposible no emitir mi opinión sobre los acontecimientos que se vienen suscitando desde hace ya siete días en gran parte de los EEUU. Las protestas por la muerte de George Floyd asesinado por agentes policiales en Minneapolis Minesota, acaparan la atención mundial por el grado de violencia con el que se desenvuelve.
The protest is necessary to do justice, claim rights and accommodate laws to prevent regrettable events such as those of George Floyd from happening again, which incidentally is not the first case of police violence against a man of African American descent that ends in murder and is that this event outlines the resentment of many American citizens tired of the racism that exists in that country.
Es necesaria la protesta para hacer justicia, reivindicar derechos y acomodar leyes para evitar que vuelvan a ocurrir hechos lamentables como los de George Floyd que por cierto, no es el primer caso de violencia policial contra un hombre de descendencia afroamericana que termina en asesinato y es que este acontecimiento aflora el resentimiento de muchos ciudadanos Estadounidenses cansados del racismo existente en ese país.

And this is where I want to stop to call for reflection. Defending the protests over the murder of George Floyd, racism in the US seems to be a never-ending problem, it cannot be that in a country where freedom reigns as a premise, people are still treated according to the color of their skin.
Y es aquí donde quiero hacer un alto para llamar a la reflexión. Defiendo la protestas por el asesinato de George Floyd, el racismo en los EEUU pareciera un problema de nunca acabar, no puede ser que en un país donde reina la libertad como premisa todavía se traten a las personas según el color de su piel.
It is necessary to weave the future with laws that allow progress to be made in this area and to reduce racism in the country as much as possible. But one thing is the peaceful protests over Floyd's death and another thing is the anti-Trump protests full of exacerbated vandalism, looting shops, setting fire to and breaking everything in their path.
Es necesario tejer el futuro con leyes que permitan avanzar en esa materia y lograr reducir al máximo el racismo en el pais. Pero una cosa son las protestas pacíficas por la muerte de Floyd y otra cosa son las protestas anti-Trump llenas de un vandalismo exacerbado, saqueando comercios, incendiando y rompiendo todo lo que se encuentre al paso.

Years later they ended up removing a president through a political trial and now we have a dictatorship that increased, today, the price of gasoline to $ 0.50 per liter, when the minimum wage is $ 4. Now nobody goes out to protest, because we are in a murderous dictatorship. If you go out into the street to protest even in a peaceful way, they will kill you.
Otro ejemplo fueron las protestas en mi país Venezuela en 1989 llamadas el Caracazo debido a un pequeño aumento en el precio de la gasolina, saqueos descontrolados, muchos comercios jamás volvieron a abrir sus puertas y muchas perdidas humanas se lamentaron. Años mas tarde terminaron sacando a un presidente a través de un juicio político y ahora tenemos una Dictadura que nos aumentó, el día de hoy, el precio de la gasolina a 0.50$ por litro, cuando el sueldo mínimo es de 4$. Ahora nadie sale a protestar, porque estamos es una dictadura asesina. Si sales a la calle a protestar así sea de manera pacífica, te matan.

When looting and assaults on people and private or public property begin, when the situation gets out of control and the sense of a protest is lost and everything seems to be absurd, it is worth asking a question: Who benefits from all this?
Cuando comienzan saqueos y agresiones a personas y propiedades privadas o públicas, cuando la situación se va de control y se pierde el sentido de una protesta y todo parece ser absurdo vale la pena hacerse una pregunta ¿A quién beneficia todo esto?
Is it necessary to burn churches, steal merchandise, destroy shops, cars, monuments, beat innocent people ruthlessly to get justice?
¿Es necesario quemar iglesias, robar mercancías de los comercios, destrozar tiendas, autos, monumentos, golpear a gente inocente de manera despiadada para lograr que se haga justicia?
American friends, watch your democracy, watch your freedom, to do justice you have to do it well.
Amigos Estadounidenses, cuiden su democracia, cuiden su libertad, para hacer justicia hay que hacerlo bien.
