Receiving By Asking

Have you ever been in a situation where your physical ability seems to be at its limit and you seem to be helpless? At that point, what do you do? Believe me, many people have been made to assume full and absolute responsibility for their lives but this does not mean you cannot ask for help. As a matter of fact, asking for help does not, in any way, make you to become weak as long as you are asking for the right reason.

You may be groomed to do things by yourself but it does not make you an island - no one actually is. At a point in your life, you will need the light of others to see. It does not matter your strength or lack of it, one thing remains that, a point will come when you will need more than just your strength to make it through.

Some people often feel shy or withdrawn from asking for help and tend to be going through heavy challenges. I say it again, asking for assistance does not equal to you being weak but it can be viewed as a show of strength if you ask for the right purpose that will also place responsibility on you.

For example, if you do not have fish, will you ask for a fish to be given to you or will you ask for the knowledge of how to fish to be taught to you? Now you see, there should be what to ask for and how to ask for it.

Can I tell you this? There is what is called "regular assistance" and something called "relevant assistance". Just one relevant assistance can make you a producer of what you would have asked for assistance regularly. This is why, if you have to ask for assistance, do not just ask for selfish reasons or for the immediate need, ask with the future in mind.

The major fear people face when asking is the fear of "no", but I tell you, a "no" does not take away your life. Go ahead and ask, the worst case scenario would be a "no" but you can still get a "yes". However, even if you do not get an immediate "yes", you will still be glad that you asked.
