Hello everyone!
It was a sunny day, last Sunday, and I have about an hour to walk. I'm not going far, I'm going to see the Sušec waterfall, which is on the edge of my hometown, at the beginning of a deep forest. I knew I probably wouldn't be able to see it because of the drought, but it will be fine for a short walk.
In English, a 'Sušec' means something like a 'dry', a waterfall that first appears in spring after heavy rain, but we haven't seen that yet this year, and the weather forecast suggests that it won't rain for at least another week.
I started my walk near St George's Church. The church dates from 1792. I am not going to go in there because I am on a different route, maybe next time.

I take the road to the old part of town, which the locals call Siberia, apparently because it can be very cold in winter in this part, like Siberia :)

This house, located above the Bistrica stream, is the Beekeepers' Home and Museum of Beekeeping. One of the most famous Slovenian beekeepers, Anton Žnideršič (1874-1947) inventor of A-Ž hive was born here.

I continue down the street.

The Bistrica stream, which rises a little higher, almost never runs out of water. A completely opposite to the Sušec stream, where the waterfall only appears during heavy rains.

As the walk to the waterfall is a popular walking route, it has been marked with signs.

One of the first signs of spring, I don't know exactly, is one variety of willow.

The stream channel is completely dry, not a drop of water.

Well, the trail ends here, it's supposed to be a waterfall :) 😁

Water flows out of these holes.

To make you feel better, here's a photo of the waterfall from last year 😁.
I have already posted this photo once on Hive but it can't hurt to do it again, especially if I describe the route in more detail.
It would be a pity not to see it, because the waterfall looks really awesome.

Finally, here's a video I posted on DTube two years ago. Hope it works :)
Otherwise, the water from Sušec is clean and drinkable, here at the source. They say it's also healing :)
When the waterfall is alive, and I hope it'll be soon, I'll report back :)
