What was your first car?

Our present Nuvosport with our little visitor

I owned a car only after two years of my marriage, purchased by my husband. And that was Maruti 800. Not a brand new one but a second hand car. Ot was an off white colour purchased in the year 1998. We got it when we came down for a 3 months vacation to India. As mentioned in few of my articles both of us were in the middle east for sometime busy earning 🙂

While at home, before marriage, buying a car was beyond imagination. The money earned was more or less spend on food , education and a meagre monthly saving, which was a must for several middle class familyinour country. A family of five where my father was the only bread winner of the family, it was not easy to dream of such things. My brother, who was 2 years elder to me, left the country after his graduation, to find a job for the betterment of our family,.

After 5 years of securing a wonderful job he got a Zen in 2002 I believe. Indeed it was a matter of pride for us, especially my Dad, to say "A car in our car porch".

Why I had to mention this ?

We used to make use of Maruti 800 once in two years only, the time we come down for vacation. Till then it remained in the car shed. So on the second return journey, we decided to sell the car. And thus was replaced by Zen. So for another 10 years our long journey companion was Zen.

All our long distance trips was covered by Zen. I used to take it from home when I come down for vacation and its just for a month in 2 years.

On a recent travel to a hill station in our Nuvosport

Finally, when I along with my children settled down in our home country in the year 2014, we purchased Mahindra's Nuvosport and that is the one still in existence with us. A vehicle which hasn't given us much issues during long journeys.

Sorry to say, I just have only the present snap of our vehicle Mahindra's Nuvospprt.

Thank you for your valuable time and patience friends.
