One of my children's favorite story book is, The very Hungry caterpillar. It’s their all time favorite book. So, we decided to make a caterpillar using colored papers. We searched the web, particularly Pinterest and found many ideas. This one's our favorite and looks easy to make. It's a perfect activity for preschool children.
Materials
Colored papers
Glue stick
Scissor
White paper
Marker
Circle pattern
How we Made it
- Draw a circle into the colored paper and cut accordingly. Write numbers in the front.
- Draw a face of the caterpillar into the white paper using the circle pattern.
- Ask your child to put paste in the back of the art paper and glued them in sequence.
We had lots of fun doing it, I have 2 children so I have to guide them to take turns in putting paste and sticking them on a paper, there were lots of moaning who will put this and that. Sharing and taking turns between them is a bit tricky and that I need to work out on, It was not easy but we will get there.
It’s a very good activity to specify colors, numbers and shape. It also helps in motor skills and a great way to bond with your children. They love to look at it so we hang them in their room, Their mini art work gallery. :D
