Hello friends of this great community and the entire platform. Today I want to share with you some very peculiar pictures of a character of my city, El diablo de Cumaná.
This tradition began with the personification of a devil-angel, by Luis Hurtado, a culturist who died last year, but who left his cultural legacy to new generations.
I had the joy of finding the devil on the beach of San Luis - Cumaná - Venezuela, in an outing that I made with my family on January 1st of the new year 2022. This young devil was scaring children and adults to behave well. Remember that the devil of Cumana is half bad and half good.
This culture, typical of my city, fills us with memories of childhood when all the children in the neighborhood ran to see the devil's dance and then we were frightened when he pointed his trident at us hahahahaha.
The original devil, as I said before, was named Luis Hurtado and is a cultural patrimony of Venezuela. Here I leave you some images of him, in the photographic camera of my friend Wilfredo Grau, photographer from Cumana.
