Peas and Peanut Namkeen!

We all are working from home. Sitting at home and working, we do feel hungry and need food to munch are irregular times. Mostly, we should control our cravings but sometimes we are genuinely hungry. It’s always healthy to consume munchies made at home since you can control the number of calories and junk food intake. I recently learned this recipe of making namkeen with peas and peanuts. It is a great filler and can be consumed guilt free. Let’s see ho we can make it easily at home.

Cooking Time

Ingredients:

• 200 gms Peas
• 20 gms Peanuts
• Salt as per taste
• Black salt
• ½ TBSP Black pepper powder
• 3 TBSP Oil

Step 1: Thoroughly wash the peas and allow them to dry under fan for about 2 hours. Once completely dry (ensure there is no water content left), keep them in a microwave for about 5 minutes. This is to ensure they are further dehydrated.
Step 2: Take oil in a pan. Heat the oil.
Step 3: Add the peanuts to the oil and roast well. Take them out and keep separately in a bowl.
Step 4: Now add the peas to the pan and roast them for about 15 minutes till they tun crisp and brown. Remember, the roasting must be done on low flame with constant stirring.
Step 5: Now add the peanuts to the peas and add all the spices. Mix well.
Step 6: Turn of the pan and let the namkeen cool down. Store in an airtight container and consume whenever you are hungry.
