La cuarentena ha cambiado nuestras vidas de diferentes maneras, para muchos de nosotros ha sido una gran oportunidad, llena de aventuras; y no externas, sino internas, las más desafiantes. Nos acercamos más a nuestros seres queridos y a nosotros mismos, apreciamos más los pequeños detalles, valoramos lo importante, notamos que nada es imprescindible y hasta cambiaron nuestras rutinas.
The quarantine has changed our lives in different ways, for many of us it has been a great opportunity, full of adventures; and not external, but internal, the most challenging ones. We get closer to our loved ones and ourselves, we appreciate the small details more, we value what is important, we notice that nothing is indispensable and even changed our routines.

Ahora con alegría mis hijos esperan los fines de semana para ir a casa de su abue, como ellos le dicen cariñosamente a su abuela paterna. Es su paseo del fin de semana. Now with joy my children wait on weekends to go to their grandmother's house, as they affectionately call their paternal grandmother. It's their weekend walk. Siendo ya lunes, comienzan los deberes escolares. Las maestras envían por WhatsApp las guías de actividades de la semana, con la instrucción de que los niños no copien desde el celular. Los padres debemos transcribir las clases en hojas, en un pizarrón o imprimirlas. Mi esposo las imprime.
Since it's already Monday, homework starts. The teachers send the week's activity guides through WhatsApp, with the instruction that the children should not copy from their cell phones. Parents must transcribe the classes on sheets, on a blackboard or print them out. My husband prints them out.

Aprovechando que mi esposo estaba en casa, nos dividimos las tareas; así que él le explicó la clase de ecuaciones a mi niña, mientras yo introducía en las divisiones a mi niño. This Monday it was up to my 6th grade daughter to learn about equations, and my 3rd grade son to learn about divisions; content totally new to them. Taking advantage of my husband being home, we divided up our homework; so he explained the equation class to my daughter, while I introduced my son to the divisions. Then they have the duty to copy in their notebooks their classes and solve the assigned exercises, just as if they were in school.

In this special program "Every Home a School", which fortunately is allowing our children to finish their academic year, the parents are their home teachers (and we learn as we go), every day we must explain the contents to them. Then they do their homework and we, the parents, must check them (always) and correct them if they have any flaws. The teachers are always available in case any representative has doubts about the content, they are a great support.

Por mi parte he sido feliz con la experiencia de asumir esta hermosa experiencia. Tener a mi hijos cerca y tener la oportunidad de compartir con ellos, siempre es una bendición. Gracias a Dios mis niños han asumido con muy buena actitud la cuarentena con todo lo que ella implica y siguen siendo esos seres llenos de alegría y luz.
For my part I have been happy with the experience of taking on this beautiful experience. Having my children around and having the opportunity to share with them is always a blessing. Thanks to God my children have assumed with a very good attitude the quarantine with all that it implies and they continue being those beings full of joy and light.
