Okay… 7 days without posting?! WHAT the hell happened?! You want to know why? Well, let’s just say this week was… hmm, let’s use a soft word… completely messed up! 😅
Last weekend, I planned to work only till 3 o’clock. I was already dreaming about my weekend chill time. But of course...something had to go wrong! 🙃
Some of you already know that I work at the same company as my husband. It’s usually fine since we don’t work on the same floor. But guess what? This weekend, we did. And of course... drama time! 😏
Saturday morning, we started work, and my husband told me he had a headache. Uh oh. So we sent him to lie down and rest, thinking he’d be fine later. I mean, come on, three girls can handle 40 residents, right? 😉
But after two hours, he was still bad. So, like the good wife I am, I told him to go home and rest. And of course, I worked the rest of the day for him. And the next three days too, because… well, superhero wife mode activated. 🦸♀️ 💪
My husband’s a biker. About 16 years ago, he did something crazy...jumped off a high statue with his bike trying to do a trick. No helmet, because he was young and thought he was invincible.
Result? Cracked skull base.
He was lucky to survive, but the headaches never left.
Over the years, we noticed a pattern, whenever the weather changes a lot, or he doesn’t sleep well, the headaches hit. Sometimes he’s fine for months, sometimes they come back every few weeks.
Yesterday, I was chatting with my co-workers, and two of them swore their migraines always happen during the full moon. And it was a full moon, and once again, he had a headache. (but during the day...so...hmmm)
They said it’s because the Moon’s gravity affects people, just like it moves the ocean tides.
I was like, hmm… really? But I didn’t argue. I had never researched it and didn’t want to sound like a know-it-all. 😅

Still, my curiosity woke up. I mean, I love the Moon! Watching her always calms me down...sitting outside with a hot cup of tea, just staring at her glow. (Am I crazy? Maybe a little. 😜)
And who are these people to say my peaceful Moon is giving my husband pain?!
So, let me tell you a little something about the Moon...YES...what did you expect? I'm a big fan, and it was also crucial for people in ancient times, so suffer in silence, please 😉 😂
Yes...time to dig deeper. 🤔
A little Moon magic
From ancient times, the Moon has fascinated people. She shines above us like a yellow friend, glowing bright, then fading away, disappearing and returning again.
Before science, people saw mystery, magic, and power in her light. I mean...one day it's here, and a few days later it's gone. People were probably going crazy because that big thing in the sky disappeared now and then, only to magically come back. 😁
In ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, they worshipped Moon gods and goddesses like Isis, Artemis, and Luna. ( I'm not here today to explain who those gods were, so if you want to know, look it up. Believe me... you won't be disappointed! 😉 )
In Asia, the full moon has always been a time for family, gratitude, and celebration.
Many believed the Moon could affect our mood, health, and even our luck. Sailors trusted it to guide them, healers thought it could change our bodies and minds, and people used its light to track time, from one full moon to the next. That’s actually how early calendars started! 🌝
Even today, people feel something special when the Moon is full.
Some say it gives them energy, strange dreams, or strong emotions. Others say it brings headaches or sleepless nights.
Science? Well, it says there’s no solid proof the Moon causes any of that.
But people still swear they can feel its pull.
A full moon happens about every 29.5 days...when the Moon is fully lit by the Sun and shines like a glowing coin in the sky.
Some follow the Moon’s cycle for meditation, goal-setting, or self-care. Others just enjoy her beauty. Yeah...like me.
We’ve walked on her, photographed her, and studied her… yet she still feels magical. ✨
Whether you believe in her power or just love her glow, the Moon reminds us that everything in life moves in cycles. Growing, glowing, and beginning again. 🌕

🌘 The verdict?
From both my point of view and science’s, the Moon doesn’t cause headaches.
But I’ll tell you something funny...I used to have trouble sleeping during full moons too!
Then one day, I simply closed my blinds so the light wouldn’t shine in… and I slept like a baby. Problem solved! 😴 😂
For me, the Moon is pure peace and beauty.
For others, it might feel like a curse.
But hey...maybe it’s all about how we see it. 💫
What do you think?

However, I still have one small problem... I’ve been trying to solve this one for years...
I WANT TO BUY A DAMN LENS so I can finally take amazing photos of the Moon!
But seriously… who the hell has 24,000 euros just lying around for a lens?! 🤯
Oh...maybe in the future...If there's any money left when I'm 80 years old, I will buy it and finally take the most beautiful moon photo.

(Yes, my husband took this photo a few years ago with a Sony A6000 and a Minolta 200mm lens. Not bad, but I still want to take closer and clearer photos.)
With love, @tinabrezpike ❤️
One moment, I was a little sad and concerned and the next moment you had me smiling. All in one post, and I love it.
Ive also heard stories about full moon bringing curses and stuff like that and I can see that it used make me uncomfortable and even non productive because I was scared. But after beginning to see it in a different lens, not anymore. It now brings satisfaction.
So I totally agree. It’s all how you see it. And I love the part you closed the blinds in your bedroom and slept like a baby. That’s the way to go!😂

Thank you
😂😂 Thanks so much for this ❤️. To me, the moon has always been something special… I honestly don't know why… maybe because of how it shines, or just the peaceful feeling I get when I watch it… I can remember from childhood that I always felt so safe when it shined so brightly :) I even have a tattoo 😂
You’re welcome☺️
It sure definitely sounds like a cool tattoo 🥰
It could be both lol. I've observed it numerous times that my mind tends to get hyperactive during full moons, like the glass is overflowing as opposed to just full or half full. Hard to do much during such times than just observe these thoughts run over my mind. Interestingly, it's quite the opposite during new moons, everything becomes silent, internalized.
Yeah… some say the moon affects them. I want to say that my mind was also more active during a full moon, but I think that was just my imagination. Maybe I should keep a diary and track the moon cycle along with my feelings on those days. Hmm… new challenge 😂

I’ve also heard people say the full moon affects how they feel or sleep. I’m not sure if it’s true, but I love looking at the moon too — it’s just so calming. 😌
Yeah… a lot of people say they cannot sleep during the full moon… the moon definitely has some magic ☺️ but yes… for me, when I watch it, it's so calming… being outside in the open… listening to music, and just watching this beauty… unfortunately, we can't see it up close like some other countries, but it doesn't matter… it definitely gives me peaceful feelings ;) thanks for stopping by 😊
I really enjoyed this! It’s amazing how something as simple as the Moon can inspire both chaos and calm depending on how we see it. 😅
Exactly! Everyone sees the moon differently :) For me, it's a positive vibe :)
I love the beauty of the moon, it's oozing with mystery that makes it so unique!
Definitely has more mystery inside than the sun 😉
In China, we have many poems about the moon.
For example, “但愿人长久,千里共婵娟。”("May we all be blessed with longevity, though thousands of miles apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together.")and “海上生明月,天涯共此时。”("A bright moon rises above the sea; from far away we share this moment.").
Sometimes I think — throughout the ages, people standing in different corners of the earth have all gazed upon the very same moon. That feeling is truly wondrous.
By the way, your husband is truly courageous.👍
I read that the moon in China symbolizes love and reunion, and also, like you wrote, people who are apart look at the moon and it connects them. A lot of respect for the moon in your part of the world, and it's exactly like this…we all look at the moon from different sides of the planet, and it connects us. We all see it. If I'm correct, there is also a festival there, right? A special day for family, friends, and reunions? My tattoo shows how much the moon means to me 😂. Oh, yes… my husband is still courageous but more careful. The first thing we did when we bought me a bike for mountain biking was to get proper safety equipment. He is still a little crazy on his bike, always riding so fast down the hill 😂. I am not so courageous 😏, but he will never go on his bike without a helmet. He has a wife… 😂 Of course, we fell a lot, but never in a way that was dangerous. He even taught me how to react when there's no way out and you're going to fall 😂. Great teacher 💪
Exactly right.
The festival you mentioned is called the Mid-Autumn Festival. On this day, families gather together to share delicious food and wine, and to admire the fullest, brightest moon of the year.
Sorry for the late reply, but I was dying in bed for 4 days 😂 I would definitely love to attend this festival…and see the supermoon from China. I’ve never had the chance to see the moon so big and bright…but looking at photos from other countries where they can see such a big moon is just...a dream 😂 That's also why I want to travel to some countries. Maybe I sound foolish, but it's true. These days, because city lights are so bright, it's almost impossible to see stars and the moon at their brightest. That's why I appreciate being somewhere like a mountain campsite, just looking at the sky and seeing every star there is. I miss those days. Oh, a question... did you already have this festival this year? 🤔 I would love to read an article about it : )
I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been sick. Are you feeling better now?
I’m afraid I have to tell you that this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival has already passed. But the good news is—it comes every year! I hope you’ll have the chance to visit China and experience this traditional Chinese festival someday.
In China, we have two calendars: the Gregorian calendar and the lunar calendar. The fifteenth day of the eighth month on the lunar calendar is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also the best time to admire the full moon.
In 2026, the Mid-Autumn Festival will fall on September 25th in the Gregorian calendar. Be sure to enjoy the moon that night!
So if I ever travel to China, I will definitely go when this festival happens! This is probably something I will be so freaking impressed by that I will tell people about it for my whole life 😂😂, but it’s truly nice when you learn so much about different cultures and see how many different festivals and traditions are all around the world… maybe I should have stayed in my profession (tourist guide) 😂 but nook I decided healthcare is better 😂
You're very lucky, your husband got off lightly in that accident. When you're young, you think you can do anything and that you're immortal. I thought that way about 10 years ago too. I thought I'd never get a headache, never get back pain, or that everything would be fine the next day when I woke up, but I've realized that's not the case anymore.
The photo is beautiful. I hope you can get the lens you want someday.
We all think we're invincible. But the truth is, I would still prefer to have this childish energy and confidence. As we grow older, we start realizing the world can be a scary place... but hey, when I'm riding down the hill and see my husband still so confident, I lose that scary feeling… better yet, I push those feelings to the back of my mind. I can say with certainty that I ride better when I'm not scared :) Of course, we fall sometimes, and I need several weeks to recover now, unlike when I was small and the next day everything was okay, but still... :) Oh yeah, and about the lens... maybe if I sold my husband, there would be enough money to buy the lens 😂
Oh yes...there has to be drama involved 😅 I also heard some people have problems sleeping at full moon. And I never understood that, because you have to live through something to understand it. And I always slept same as every other night, even if there was full moon. But hey, you can go on a hike at night 😉
Or getting home from the bar without falling 😂 My mom and grandma still believe the full moon is why they can't sleep… but she tells me every few days she can't sleep… so what now? Is it the moon, or do you just have a hard time falling to sleep? 😂 I still wait for the answer 🤔😂
Getting home from a bar can be an art sometimes 😅 There's always a rock or a branch who is guilty. Well, fun fact: when there's a full moon it takes an effect for a whole month... didn't you know that? 😆 Or do we have another second moon, wanting to stay anonymous, just chilling around our planet? 🙃
Yes! There is a second moon…death star! 😂😂 it's always in the shadow 😂
Ninja style 😂 You feel its presents, but never actually see it 😄
