Hello everyone from a snowy March morning. When I went out to work this morning, I saw a lot of snow and I want to present everyone with snow views from the METU campus for my first GEMS post.
Karlı bir Mart sabahından herkese merhaba. Bu sabah işe gitmek için sokağa çıktığımda epey bir kar yağdığını gördüm ve bu ilk GEMS paylaşımım için herkese ODTÜ kampüsünden kar manzaraları sunmak istiyorum.
METU (Middle East Technical University) is an international university providing education in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. I entered here as a student in 2007 and now I continue as an employee. You see, I've been here for 15 years.
ODTÜ (Middle East Technical University), Türkiye'nin başkenti Ankara'da eğitim veren uluslararası bir üniversite. Ben de buraya 2007 yılında öğrenci olarak girdim ve şu anda da çalışanı olarak devam ediyorum. Anlayacağınız 15 yıldır buradayım.
Our campus, located in a place that can be considered the heart of Ankara, was a completely treeless area 70 years ago. As a result of a large-scale afforestation work initiated by the first founders and students of the university, we now have the largest forest in Ankara. We can say that university buildings are established in the middle of this forest.
Ankara'nın kalbi sayılabilecek bir yerde bulunan kampüsümüz 70 yıl önce tamamen ağaçsız bir alanmış. Üniversitenin ilk kurucuları ve öğrencilerinin başlattığı büyük çaplı bir ağaçlandırma çalışması sonucu şu an Ankara'nın en büyük ormanına sahibiz. Üniversite binaları da bu ormanın ortasında kurulu diyebiliriz.
The natural structure of the METU campus offers us incredible views in every season. Every season is beautiful here. Especially in autumn, the leaves that fall from the chestnut trees wrap everywhere and you will be fascinated. In the spring, the trees bloom, surrounded by wonderful scents and wonderful colors. In winter, as in these photos, it gives a subtle sense of simplicity. Despite the harsh cold, you throw yourself out to see these sights.
ODTÜ kampüsünün doğal yapısı bize her mevsim inanılmaz manzaralar sunar. Burada her mevsim ayrı ayrı güzeldir. Özellikle sonbaharda kestane ağaçlarından dökülen yapraklar her yeri sarar, büyülenirsiniz. İlkbaharda ise ağaçlar çiçek açar, etrafı müthiş kokular ve müthiş renkler sarar. Bu fotoğraflarda olduğu gibi kışın ise ince bir sadelik hissi verir. Sert soğuklara rağmen bu manzaraları görmek için dışarı atarsınız kendinizi.
