Quizás este post no sea tan interesante como muchos otros, pero hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, como se trata la crianza de animales de manera económica para un región o localidad. Muchos tenemos trabajo comunes de las ciudades, contadores, ingenieros, médicos, bartenders, y muchas otras profesiones, pero que pasa con aquellas personas que simplemente no tienen alguna de estas profesiones y no son de las grandes ciudades, ¿Como sobreviven?, pues la gran mayoría de esto.
Maybe this post is not as interesting as many others, but today I want to share with you, how animal breeding is treated in an economical way for a region or locality. Many of us have common jobs from the cities, accountants, engineers, doctors, bartenders, and many other professions, but what about those people who simply don't have any of these professions and are not from the big cities, how do they survive, as most of them do.
Aunque parezca sencillo no lo es, el cuidado de animales como cabras y ovejas es un largo proceso, se necesitan vacunas, medicamentos, alimento y sobre todo paciencia. Es algo de lo que viven el 30-40% de las personas de los pueblos a los cuales visito.
Although it seems simple it is not, the care of animals like goats and sheep is a long process, you need vaccines, medicines, food and above all patience. This is something that 30-40% of the people in the villages I visit live on.
En primer lugar estos animales se sueltan del corral a tempranas horas de la mañana, aproximadamente a las 8am, y hay que llevarlas a las montañas para que puedan alimentarse de pasto, es un largo camino pero aunque muchos de estos animales ya lo conocen, hay que estar cuidándolos de depredadores como los cunaguaros, linces y los pumas.
En horas de la tarde, las cabras y ovejas regresan por si mismos, aproximadamente a las 6pm al mismo corral de donde se soltaron, se quedan esperando afuera hasta que los cuidadores abren las puertas para que entren, incluso parece que están entrenados ya que hacen todo esto solos.
First of all these animals are released from the corral in the early hours of the morning, approximately at 8am, and they have to be taken to the mountains so that they can feed on grass, it is a long way but although many of these animals already know it, they have to be taken care of from predators such as cunaguars, lynx and pumas.
In the afternoon, the goats and sheep return on their own, at approximately 6pm to the same corral from which they were released, they stay outside until the caretakers open the gates to let them in, it even seems like they are trained as they do all this on their own.
Aquí empieza una de las tareas diarias, remover las espinas o tunas como nosotros conocemos que algunas de las cabras recogen en sus cuerpos, ademas hay que revisar muy bien a los animales recién nacidos que no estén mordidos por algún depredador o murciélago, esto para evitar que esas heridas de infecten. Las tunas retiradas se agregan en un recipiente y luego se desechan, aunque también esto forma parte de su dieta en verano.
Here begins one of the daily tasks, removing the thorns or prickly pears as we know that some of the goats collect in their bodies, also we must check very well the newborn animals that are not bitten by a predator or bat, this to prevent these wounds from being infected. The removed prickly pears are added in a container and then discarded, although this is also part of their diet in summer.
Las cabras y ovejas se separan corrales distintos para evitar que se mezclen ambas raras, aunque pueden andar juntas en la montaña, ambos animales suelen pelear mucho si se encierran juntos.
Goats and sheep are separated by separate pens to avoid mixing the two rare, although they can walk together in the mountains, both animals often fight a lot if locked together.
Hay machos que predominan y se hacen notar mucho en ambas manadas se denominan "padrotes" y son los lideres de la manada, son de raza, y aseguraran que la mayoría de las crías tengan un buen linaje. Y casi todos los lideres son extremadamente agresivos con quienes se acercan a ellos.

También tienen una especie de abrevaderos artesanales, que utilizan al llegar sobre todo cuando van mas lejos de las montañas.

Como ayuda económica y ganancias de la crianza de estos animales, esta la recolección de leche, elaboración de suero y queso, ademas de la venta del animal vivo o la carne, incluso el cuero puede ser utilizado para fabricar sillas, por eso muchas personas se dedican a esto diariamente sin descanso.
As economic aid and profits from the breeding of these animals, there is the collection of milk, production of whey and cheese, in addition to the sale of the live animal or meat, even the leather can be used to make chairs, so many people are engaged in this daily without rest.
