Panning for Gold

Ok, so this is a click bait title! They are not panning for gold, but it looks like they are LOL. It does appear that they are just taking a closer look at the gorgeous turquoise coloured water! This is the Kootenay river as it flows on by. In, you guessed it, Kootenay National Park. Located mostly in British Columbia, but the northern tip is located in Alberta. The walking bridge in the last photo looks like it was just recently constructed. Sometimes when out and about in the Rockies, the walking bridges are not always exactly in great shape. Nice to walk across a new one like this.

I need to visit Canada. It looks so untouched by civilization. No litter, cut trees or scared mountains.

That’s mostly correct.

It's a beautiful setting @daveks Kootenay National Park, located mostly in British Columbia, but the northern tip is in Alberta. You continue to offer quality publications. Successes

why the water is that turquoise color? it loos really beautiful but the normally the water is not like that

There is rock powder suspended in the water, add some sunlight, and this is the effect you get. Less sunlight, less vibrant water.

All kidding aside, I bet there is some gold in there. Guys get some placer gold from the shore of Lake Superior all the time. Not sure if they allow panning in your national parks though...

I was thinking the same too actually. Maybe I was missing out..

Wow, what a fascinating trio of photos my friend @daveks... Your skills as a landscape photographer really go beyond excellence... That first photo is superb, really for a contributor of something on NatGeo... But, as I am an "incurable" addict of black and white, I have to confess that I spent several minutes looking at the last monochrome photo, the one where that footbridge appears on the right of the visual plane... Wow... It is exquisite what you have achieved by combining the superb natural elements with that humanized element so sui generis... A round of applause for that!.... Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, yes I was pleased with how that photo turned out. The wide lens on the Huawei makes it easier to capture so much in one photo!
