I am part of a very small family. My mother and my father were both only children so we don't have any cousins from either side of the family. My parents only had two children, my brother and I, and we have increased the amount of family members by each having two kids.
My husband on the other side has plenty of cousins and I have only met a few of them. They are not a close-knit family so they are spread all over.
My sister in law has a widespread family with lots of siblings because her father had been married three times now, and every time he remarries, a few more siblings are added. I honestly believe that if she got them all together they would be able to fill up a room very quickly. They are however not very close and she only has contact with a few of them.
This is not the point. We all have our own families that we have to worry about but what if you can help make a difference in someone else's life by giving a small donation.
In some way we are all connected on this earth. We can help each other in so many ways, but the problem is that half of the planet is suffering after Covid. Many people lost their jobs, many more people are now homeless and the few that are still trying to hold on is getting poorer and poorer.
Many of us just make it with enough money to the next month, and most of us just live paycheck to paycheck. A few of my own family members are really struggling to hold head above water. My husband's family is also struggling to keep a roof over their heads and here we are, we barely have enough to support ourselves.
Who do we help and who do we leave out? Do we just split the difference?

My friend @anneke has a friend called Franky, who is suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. This poor lady suffers and is completely dependent on oxygen. Her medication bills are sky high and each month @anneke suffers to collect enough donations from friends to help her friend stay alive.
We all need help and we obviously cannot help everyone who needs help, but a donation of $ 5 is not going to kill anyone!
Do you even realize that here on HIVE we can all make a difference? By just donating $ 5 per month you can help to save a life!
I am curious to see if anybody would be willing to participate in this challenge. If this works, then I will open a community for charity. Each and every donation to this account will be used to help someone in need. Here in South Africa $5 is equal to nearly R 90 which is currently a lot of money. Imagine 100 people donating a mere $5. That gives $500 and will help Franky for the next 8 months.
How can this not make you smile? For a very small amount you can be part of something that can turn into something BIG!
