The abuse of downvotes is legit dumb. Should be a better way to combat spam than by having a free downvote because the majority of the time I've seen it abused simply because you don't agree with someone. It's highly demotivating and really makes you not to be part of the platform when you see that kind of crap going on. What's even more sad is it comes from some of the top figureheads of the platform. Like lets grow the F up people and start freakin building something already.

They really do so I feel as if people should have to "pay" for it instead of getting it for free.
It should cost $1,000 to downvote someone.
That is a fantastic point to bring up. There was a discussion about that very concept in discord by themarkymark. He goes by just marky in discord. If you haven't read it I recommend it.
Am sure some people will still make use of it.
