RE: POB Word of the Week : Power #005

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

Winners must always be congratulated, congratulations! Congratulations on being selected for these important awards. So far I have not been able to make an impression about these posts because I did not have time to read them. I read a few posts but I didn't find any of the ones I noticed. It remains for me to fix this mistake of mine today.
Thank you for appearing in the smaller list on my first participation, I think it is an important step and an encouragement for the future, as I think it is for all the other colleagues on the list. I think that all those who participated in this edition appear on the list and it seems to me that this is a gesture of great generosity so that no one will be forgotten, no matter how weak their post would have been. I am convinced that everyone will participate with great enthusiasm in the next editions.
The word chosen for this week seems extremely well chosen. The power I think will generate many different opinions. I look forward to participating, thank you for the great initiative with this contest!

The feedback is definitely not necessary, but I thought it would be nice to give people a little inkling into why they just missed out. I think it'll be better when the merit system is up and rolling.

I really enjoyed your post this week and I've actually mentioned it a few times in comments, lol. "I know that I know nothing" popped up a few times last week, I'm sure it'll pop up many times in the future too (but I don't know, y'know?).

No, I don't know. Thank you! You are absolutely right to encourage interaction, this is the key to success. I was upset that I didn't succeed more in this regard, especially since I understand the need. I usually respond to all comments, even if I'm late. I haven't settled in with the new community yet, but I'll do it soon.

I think it's working out so far, we've definitely got the ball rolling. I'm trying something radical next week which I believe will further increase engagement in the following week, little experiment.

Don't stress over needing to be highly engaged with others, just do your thing and have fun. I'm working on making sure the contest is balanced well enough for all kinds of content and people. It's a challenge but I'll make it happen.

Any experiment is good, especially if it manages to make improvements. I can only say that after years of observation I found that voting for comments, offering rewards is the most successful strategy for increasing interaction. It doesn't always bring the most valuable participation but it can be numerous.

I'm not stressed with the level of engagement, I used to be much more productive but I got tired. What I do I do with pleasure and I hope it lasts longer. Thank you!

Very true. It also highlights some valuable information surrounding accounts who are just commenting for the sake of commenting. As soon as you start flashing lavish prizes, the moths come out.

Unfortunately, this is what happens. However, discernment is needed, the one who votes for the comments, usually the author of the post, votes for the comments that are worthwhile. No system is perfect but you have to try until you find one that works.

Agreed. I have put some decent work into the merit system now, it just needs a good test run and some tweaking. I'm going to release some information about it today in prep for next weeks word (likely going to tag all of the participants so far).
