This word came about thanks to the mathematician Archimedes of Syracuse, who was commissioned to check if the crown of King Hieron II was pure gold or had other minerals mixed in its constitution.
This researcher got down to work and after meditating, he decided to do an experiment in his bathtub, where he immersed the crown in water and finally found the answer to his question; indeed, the king's crown was pure gold.

In this sense, I made a brief tour through history to find the most important "Eureka" and this is what I got:
1- The discovery of electric light
Undoubtedly, one of the most transcendental discoveries that humanity has had, is that of electric light. It was Thomas Edison who earned the title of inventor of this element so important in our daily lives, however, this discovery does not belong to him alone, since to reach this achievement he had to review the progress of other researchers who had ventured into this field. In spite of everything, Thomas Edison was the first to make a light bulb last more than 40 hours on, without explosions or anything like that.
In short, this discovery deserved a big "Eureka" from Edison, no more candles and goodbye to gas lamps (figuratively speaking, of course).
2- The creation of the printing press
Johannes Gutenberg is credited with having invented a new way of capturing writings and images, "The printing press" transformed the way of disseminating information and knowledge, it was a very effective tool to reproduce and replicate texts and illustrations faster (still is) far surpassing handwriting, however, our inventor Johannes died in debt and poor, this great "Eureka" consumed him a lot of time and resources, so much! En definitiva, este descubrimiento merecía un gran "Eureka" por parte de Edison, se acabaron las velas y adiós a las lámparas de gas (en sentido figurado, claro).
2- La creación de la imprenta
Se le atribuye a Johannes Gutenberg haber inventado una nueva manera de plasmar escritos e imágenes, "La imprenta" transformó la forma de difundir información y conocimiento, era una herramienta muy eficaz para reproducir y replicar textos e ilustraciones con mayor rapidez (aún lo es) superando con creces a la escritura a mano, sin embargo, nuestro inventor Johannes murió endeudado y pobre, este gran "Eureka" le consumió mucho tiempo y recursos, ¡tanto! que tuvo que recurrir a prestamistas varias veces, pero al final acabó arruinado y su proyecto lo completó otra persona, imagino su desilusión fue muy grande, ya que murió poco tiempo después, una verdadera lástima.
