We are taught in our countries to be proud of our leaders and to admire them for the job they do. We are told that those who disagree with our elected officials are not patriotic. We are told to fear authority, to not question the wisdom of our military generals, to castigate those who are unpatriotic for the things they do and for the things they are said to have done. We are told to stand for truth, to oppose unearned political propaganda, to be unafraid of those who would attack our freedom and to be suspicious of those who would suggest that we should weaken our defenses.
These things are always true, but somehow they never occur to our politically correct morons who claim to be educators of our young people. And yet it is these very same teachers of young minds who are telling us in the most frightening ways to beware of what we should do and to really be scared of what truly might happen if we do. If we are too careful then they argue, we might make ourselves weak nation. If we are too careful then we might have to live in a weak nation, and we might even have to live under a government which is itself not powerful enough to defend the country.
But there is one fact that all this nonsense is based on. It is based on the age old maxim that nothing is more certain than death and taxes. And you can never be right by doing that, because those who say so are dead wrong about what is the best course of action. If you were dead wrong you would not be writing articles for this site to tell others how to live their lives, correct?
So, let us review. Those who say that living without fear is unwise are really saying that living without any fear is foolish. Those who say that those who are afraid must be weak are really saying that those who are afraid must be foolish. Those who insist that those who are afraid must be stupid are really saying that those who are not afraid must be very clever. Can you see how ludicrous these statements are?
You can never be right by doing what other people want you to do. You can never be right by doing what you think other people want you to do. You can never be right by doing what your heart says. You can't always be right by following the crowd, am I right? What crowd?
The crowd always move, it changes direction like the weather, it changes from day to day. Do you want to follow the crowd? You can't follow the crowd, you need to set yourself apart from the crowd, you need to stand out.
You can never be right by following the false philosophies of others, such as someone else's code of ethics. You can never be right by following somebody else's personal ideas if you base your ideas off of someone else's work. You might say something that is a complete opposite of what the author believes to be right. You might have completely different beliefs than the author.
If you're doing all this, and you believe in the concept of absolutes, you might be getting way over your head and you might find that you're in a circle of self-conflicted thinking where there's no escape from self-doubt. The concept of absolutes is great; however, you can never be right by doing what's written there. The concept of being right by doing what other people want you to do might help get you out of self-doubt, but you can never be right by doing what's written there
