TGIF? Okay, it's the weekend afterall. Have a blast!

Around 11 pm on Thursday, l read some posts from my Filipino buddies in a blockchain-based microblogging platform and almost every one of them was thanking God that it's Friday. #TGIF was not new to me and the fact that they are waking up when I'm about to go to bed was also not a big deal. I always take it as one of those stunts we have to embrace as people living in different parts of the world.

Now, I'm glad to have slept nicely and I'm excited to be wide awake and making the best of this day. This fabulous day. It's TGIF! Are you excited?

People can't hide their excitement whenever Friday is around the corner.

I can still recall how much l valued days like days when l was serving in the National Youth Service of my country. It was from March 2020 to February 2021. I didn't start the service per se, until November when the whole corona issue and the lockdown that came with it became less serious. When l started serving, l was deployed to a Commercial bank where l worked from 7 am to 5 pm.

As of that time, l was still learning the ropes about blogging and writing and blockchain-based platforms as a whole. I knew that this is something that would save my ass by the end of my service year so, I didn't take it as a joke. Combining both the physical job and this was not an easy one. Having 4 hours of sleep each day became a part of me. That was one of the many prices l had to pay to learn about the opportunities piled up in the virtual world.

At that time, weekends were my best time of the week. Fridays in particular gave me a different type of energy.

It was a perfect time to be free from the glaring eyes of my manager and the aimless trekking across all the streets of Jos, Plateau state.

Why the trekking? Well, it's just a thing for Nigerian banks. They pay you between $80 - $120 monthly so, get ready to go on a hunt for people that will open an account with the bank. It doesn't matter if everyone in Nigeria already has multiple bank account numbers, just meet your daily and weekly and monthly target or get roasted and threatened for being 'unqualified'. Tsk tsk

Even as a Corper, l didn't get any preferential treatment. This was an eye-opener and that was how l bid farewell to bank jobs. Every Monday, l see myself waiting for Fridays to come. The same circle continued until the last week of February when l ended my service.

At the moment, l'm unemployed but l'm not jobless. I'm always busy in my head and online doing stuffs. Would TGIF vibe still get to me?

Almost everyone around me says how much they need a break from the weekday's activities, but for me, l don't just say it, l do it!

I do what l love and l work when l want so, every day is almost the same for me. No special day for work or rest. I do either of them when l feel like doing it and l can do it from any part of the world.

Last weekend, I honoured an invitation to teach about Blockchain-based social media and l was able to onboard 7 people into a microblogging site while sitting in the comfort of my hotel room. I already have this weekend choked up with more work. Fun-work! I will be holding a tutorial with a banker and I'm sure that he will do well as an Hiver.

FYI, all these are done freely because... I don't know because. I'm just glad to enlighten more people about this ✌️

Now that l'm thinking of this, l must say that l currently commit more work hour to my online activities than l ever did throughout my working experience in a bank.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

I don't get the TGIF vibes most times, not because I'm not eager to do away with the week's activities but because the weekend is also packed with a lot of other activities. 😂😂 It's all the same to me.

And what's the microblogging site that you kept mentioning but not saying the name?🙄
Glad you work in your own space and the confine of your room, house, or anywhere you stay.

Well, people will always and forever be thankful it's weekend. The joy that comes with it is second to none.

Loll... The noise makers call it Noise.cash
Not the fanciest of names but it's living up to the hype. Having an account there and having a hive account can easily make you to take them as the noisy neighbours.

I work anywhere and everywhere. It's just thrilling and satisfactory. I also like thrillers so, I push for more adventures after each one

I already thought as much that it's there you were referring to.
Keep up with the noise over there :)

Because I got my first crypto micro blogging account through a casual discussion with a friend by he road side, I have underrated the place of mentorship in bringing people aboard.

Such a wonderful work you're doing there.

When your full time job is virtual, then it wouldn't matter whether it's Monday or Friday.

But if you're a clubbing type, the excitement still stays nonetheless.

That mentorship isn't an easy role for anyone to play but it's very fulfilling. I derive joy to see them earning bits by bits from it. As time goes on, they can also earn tangible amount.

Weekend vibe is still undeniable. You said it the right way. I believe that there are some things that still makes weekends to be worth it even for a full-time online worker

Mentorship is really about the satisfaction you get than any other thing.

Weekends got it's spirit.
