Here is Why Hive Will Amount into Nothing

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

After spending over two weeks on Hive, my assessments are telling me this project will amount into nothing.
Before you judge my assessment, just give me a minute of your time. unless hive changes its blockchain system it will amount to nothing, in the least it won't pick up.

  1. A copycat of steem. majority of people who moved in Hive blockchain have the same mentality as those on steem, their ways of doing things are almost the same, that this project is merely the same as steem with minor improvements, therefore the founders don't have an original vision in the years ahead.

  2. It is not really decentralized as they claim it to be, there are whales everywhere, people stamp on others where I don't see more of centralization than decentralized.

  3. Unfriendliness of the system, any project succeeds because of its user-friendly, not only the system but also the community, This project is mostly based on geeks who understand blockchain and programming, those who don't understand are simply left to struggle, or they make lots of mistakes to simply give up on it

  4. Quality over quantity, The system is made only to fight spam, and plagiarism, even if someone shares their own content that they published on other platforms, they call on it plagiarism, it seems they spend more time thinking about plagiarism than creating a better system, this tips off and gets in the nerves of newcomers. They should have spent more time educating newcomers on how to use the system than spending more time creating bots.

  5. Poor algorithm, how can you reward someone based on votes? if someone spends an awful amount of time to research and develop content or article, how do you expect a good quality by simply rewarding them with the votes, and still these votes depend on whales, someone writes a well-presented article of 8 minutes and another person comes in, just post a selfie, then the person who posts a selfie gets more reward. This voting or payment system is all wrong, If you want high-quality content makes it worth it, attracts real professional content creators.

  6. Struggling developers, like content creators, developers are struggling, the good example is @dapplr. Developers are the lifeblood of any blockchain project, if you starve them you starve the system, if someone can walk away from such a big project, be scared, I was heartbroken to hear these guys are selling their app.

  7. No significant income, we have to face the fact that people come to projects like this to make even a full-time career if the payment system is not good, people are forced to find other sources of income and eventually abandon everything.

  8. Creepy people, conspiracy theories, and misinformation, I have seen this guy @gangstalking, he comments on everything, I have seen a video that promotes white supremacy, other people posting a video about vaccines conspiracies and such without real proof. This simply tips people off.

Yeah, so that's that, I don't really see any future on this project, to be honest, Just waiting to cash out my money and leave. that's another thing too, why would you hold the hive power, and not be able to release them instantly? Have you guys ever thought about what the word Hive implies? ever seen the episode on star trek about Borgs?

Sort:

Everything you mentioned here has merit.

It's too bad people here refusing to believe content is not this place's forte. Hive does much better on other fronts like games such as Splinterlands.

On the more traditional content side, it's lacking and left stagnant. Oh, let's not even dive into the weird 13-week lock thing. It's a sure fire way to make sure people won't hold massive amounts of HP unless they don't ever plan on cashing out.

What is the merit of being a whale? if few people have power over the network, then this network can easily be corrupt.

13-week lock? if someone have $ 100 worth of hive, why would you lock them in? Let's face the fact that, everyone is in for the money, everyone is in for the profit, the more you give people the more they will contribute back, if you Hive can generate a substantial amount of income for an average joe to support themselves, then they will stick with it, but there is only a 'promising future' or do it out of goodness of your heart, while there is nothing on the table, people will ghost this project really fast.

If I am making over $700 on medium as a writer, why in the world would I leave that for hive? or if someone has AdSense blog that generates over $ 300/ month why would they devote their time on Hive waiting for a whale to upvote for them? while on AdSense people gets paid for impression, no one has to upvote for you. This system has to be revised, otherwise, its just another blockchain project that we all know where it will lead to.

And things like this have been debated in depth on and off chain.

We will have to see where the consensus eventually lead to.

Well, don't debate for too long, make a decisive action, otherwise in this era no one waits for anyone, people move where the money is, it's not what people thinks but what works and what doesn't.

Actually, someone was mentioning about the post on hive being valid for upvote only within seven days, and then after that it can't generate any more money, is this true?

Actually, someone was mentioning about the post on hive being valid for upvote only within seven days, and then after that it can't generate any more money, is this true?

Money from upvotes, yes, they are only good for 7 days.

Tipping (or transfer directly to user wallet) is always available.

What is the principle behind this?

No clue.

So, I would say arbitrary.

From my perspective dont be in a hurry to conclude.i encourage you to be consistent and engage more.

Just a note about point 1: Hive is not a copycat of steem but rather an evolution of steem.
