I'm with you, I like sitting on the hill and watching others melt down to the core. I think when this melt down is done those of us on the hill will get to see something nice begin to bloom. I am not one to aid in destruction or to aid in propping up that which needs to be destroyed/preserved, I think they do a good enough job with out my interference.
I am glad that there are lot's of people like you , sitting in the hill's , and this time not starving and lurking on the edge of the city's like wolf pack's . This time they learned to take care on there own , they have bin to the city , they saw there was nothing for them .
Say's me , sitting in a large metropolis of city's , looking at concrete and brick wall's all around me . Life may well change for those in their 20's before it is to late, for me being retired, life is what it is and any change for good or worse really does not impact my life much as I have little life left.

Change for the sake of change changes nothing though. Does not matter if it is fast or drawn out. I have seen lots of people state "things need to change", I have not seen any of them say what needs to change or how to change it. So I sit back and watch things change unfortunately most of the changes come from arrogance and incompetents.
