Major causes of death!

in Proof of Brain2 years ago

Wrong medications are the major cause of death in our world today. I recently escaped being a victim due to infinite mercies of God who didn't want me to die just yet.

I was having this pain in my left rib which I later figured was as a result of being exposed to cold after having to visit the doctor to get a diagnosis.

Before going to see a doctor, I had to a nearby pharmacy and narrated my ordeal to the person I met there. The person looked new as that's not who I was familiar with in that pharmacy but because of the severe pain I was having I had to talk to him. He prescribed some drugs to me which I took. After taking two doses, I had severe stomach pain, I couldn't sleep properly at night, my head ached and I couldn't look at bright light for even a split second.

Thus was my ordeal for days yet I tried to prove I was strong when slowly I was leaving the real world. When I couldn't endure the torment any longer, I had to go see a doctor and he ran some tests on me and that's where I figured my situation was just minor yet I was given the wrong medications for it which weighed 500mg each.

The doctor injected me with something that helped flush the high dose of drugs out of my system with other smaller pills I could take to stop the pain. I got fine after some days and swore never to visit or talk to a pharmacist I don't trust.

Many people have died of wrong medications and it's something that needs a quick check on lest more loves are lost. It's better to visit a doctor, run authentic tears and confirm the problem before taking any medication. My experience made me realize this and I've sworn to pay more attention to my health and go for a check-up and get a diagnosis before taking any medication.

I'm someone who actually goes against drugs and medication, especially if we're talking about something minor, the day to day very common health issues. Unless it's something serious and absolutely needs a certain type of medication for recovery, only then I might comply and take the medicine routinely and as suggested by a doctor.

Problem is that people nowadays rely a bit too much on medication, and don't really trust their health and immune system, the ability to recover naturally.

When we have a headache, we instantly pop a pill or tablet thinking that's the only remedy. Have a slight fever? Take a paracetamol and wait for it to kick in. Whereas if we would've waited, rested for a while, had a cup of coffee or tea, a bowl of hot soup maybe, a hot shower even; taking the much "natural" and healthier route, what would've been the issue then?

Yes, the headache or fever might've stayed for a little longer, but soon enough, it would've left willingly; it wouldn't have to be forced and drained out through the use of medication. Not every health issue and disease requires a ton of medication.

Sometimes the remedy is simple, maybe it's just our shitty diet, lack of exercise and activities, and a good sleep routine; when we keep these things in check, the rest just fall into place and we start feeling as fresh as a daisy again.

Not every health issue and disease requires a ton of medication.

This is very true! I'm not into taking medications but I had to this time cause the pain didn't seem to leave even after a week.

Everything you've said here is absolutely true,my dad is someone that does this a lot, he pops pills and drowns them like food at any slight pinch he feels in his body. Our house began to smell like a hospital, it was so bad and I blessed the day I gained admission to the university. I was so happy to leave because he tried turning us to be like himself but I could never. I'd rather take injections than swallow pills cause I'm very dramatic when it comes to that moment just that when the situation feels too much for me to handle, I find solutions immediately to avoid stories that touches the heart.

I really love your comment here on my post. Thank you so much Riz❤️

I've been through a phase of medication "abuse" myself, but at that point I was severely ill, so I had no other option. Even though those meds did help me recover, they still did quite a lot damage on the sides; they were all quite powerful drugs, and being on them for a long time has unpleasant side effects.

Yet, after that "ill" experience of mine I started taking care of myself, the proper way; eating healthy, working out and staying active, and now I can proudly say that those days are a thing of the past now. Even though some of the scars and damage are still intact; all I can say is that I've taken that negative experience and successfully turned it towards something positive, and that's what really matters to me.

And I appreciate your little reply, at least you understood my point of view; so, you are welcome, madam.

Cheers 🥃

This is one thing I need to do; taking care of myself. I haven't had a "me time" in a long while as I've been occupied doing so many things but I'll sure work on that now. Thanks for mentioning it.

you are welcome, madam

Damn! It's quite anxious to hear from you. I would like to say, taking medicines is always a matter of concern If you don't get a prescription from a doctor. Yes, just because of taking wrong drugs, many people have been suffering from numerous diseases, even if it makes the patient's conditions more complicated rather than improving one's health condition.

I definitely would like to tell you, don't take medicine without visiting a doctor. I know you have learned from the incident. Hope you are quite alright at the moment and everything will be fine soon.

Take care and be aware!

I actually did regret my actions though I never felt it to be my fault as I needed urgent help but I'm glad I feel better now. Y'all are making me so happy for being so concerned 🥺. I've missed all of you though and I'll be checking in soon too. Thanks a million for your kindness, it means a lot🥺🥰💙

You are welcome. Stay health always 😊

🥰🥰

You were lucky that nothing serious took place, be careful from next. If possible take some action against that pharmacist otherwise something similar could happen to the others, you got saved but someone else might not be as lucky as you were. So take necessary steps and make the surrounding people aware of the incident.

Take Care!

I did go back there but I didn't meet the person that gave me the medications but I laid my complaint and all I could get was an apology as of that'd have been given if anything happened to me. Thanks for your concern, I really appreciate it

Apology is not that important, awareness is. I just pray and hope that the other people get aware after this incident to avoid something serious.

It'll take just one more person for their license to be taken and the place shut down forever

They better get careful.

They can't afford to not be after my complaint
