Concerning individual achievement yeah maybe. But been a better player than them you mean in terms of what metrics exactly? As he isn't the highest goal scorer or Highest assist of all time. Cristiano Ronaldo has more goals in all competition than him when compared in that regards. So you see that aspect will continue to be subjective.
For sure in the coming years, new breeds of players will come up and will shatter those records as I guess that's why records are there for in the first place, a standard to be conquered
messi has the highest assist of all time and highest man of the match award of all time, he is still has the best play maker award mean while he is still a great scorer
You seem to have skipped highest number of goals as that to me means a lot when weighing a great forward or don't you think so? :-). By the way who currently is the top scorer in south America? or in the world? Then he still a lot to prove to me
