Getting back in shape or getting in better shape

in Health and Fitness9 hours ago (edited)

Hey Hive friends! 👋

Today was only my second time in the gym, but it felt like a big step forward — literally and figuratively. I tried new machines, tested my strength, and ended up climbing 20 floors on the stepper! 🥳

🔹 Warming Up 🏃🏽

I started my workout on the treadmill, just to get the body moving and blood flowing. Nothing intense — just a light warm-up walk to wake up my muscles and prepare for the session ahead.

🔹 Exploring More Machines

Once I was warmed up, I went to explore. The gym was busy, so I moved around a bit — from “pedalina” (the seated stepper) to the bicycle, and even back to the treadmill while waiting for the stepper to be free.

It was actually a great way to stay active in between and I got to work both my legs and cardio without losing momentum.

🔹 Testing My Strength

Today I also tried two new strength machines for the first time.
Here’s what I managed:

Arms: Lifted / pulled 25 kg 🏋️‍♂️

Legs: Lifted 20–25 kg 🦵

Not bad for round two! I wanted to test my limits gently and find out where I stand right now.

🔹 Stepper Challenge – 20 Floors Up!

Finally, I got to try the stepper, and it became the highlight of the day.
I climbed the equivalent of 20 floors in 7 minutes and 58 seconds, burning 60 kcal with an average power of 91 watts.

That machine doesn’t play around — it’s one of the best cardio and leg workouts I’ve felt so far.

🔹 Total Time in the Gym

In total, I spent about 3 hours in the gym. It was a mix of warming up, exploring, learning, and pushing myself a bit harder than last time.

🌟 Reflections

I’m starting to feel more confident with the equipment and pacing myself better. The best part is that it’s not just physical progress but it’s also mental. Each session builds discipline, focus, and motivation.

Next time, I plan to:
✅ Spend more time on the stepper
✅ Add more sets on strength machines and try some other machines
✅ Keep improving endurance

Thanks for reading, Hive friends! Every small step counts, and I’m enjoying this journey one workout at a time. 💪
