I have heard mushrooms are poisonous. We don't eat mushrooms here. Although we have some packed mushrooms which is used as food but the mushrooms found locally were not eaten. I don't know the exact reason.. what could probably be the reason can you tell?
Some mushrooms are poisonous, others are very tasty.
If you are not sure, you should never eat them though. That could be the reason :)
