Deliberate Motion

Desired training is the quiet work of noticing what I want to reach for before I even reach for it, that split-second hunger that says, this will save you, this will fix you, this will finally make you satisfied,
Desired training is me learning that not every craving deserves obedience, and not every longing is like a compass—some longings are just old wounds asking for that familiar comfort feeling,
Desired training is the practice of aiming better, so I don’t spend my life chasing things that just glitter and vanish, so I don’t keep calling it “bad luck” when it’s really a mis-aimed wanting,
Desired training I want isn’t about becoming cold, but about becoming accurate—so my heart doesn’t keep breaking on the same obstacles, just with different phases with names,
And desired training makes me wonder what I’ve been calling “need” when it’s really just a combination of habit and hunger
Desired training also teaches me that I can choose what truly matters to me with clarity and care…

Learning to stay is how I learn to stop running from what I labeled as unbearable, because sometimes what I avoid isn’t danger—it’s discomfort, uncertainty, or the risk of growth,
Learning to stay is noticing how quickly my body flinches, from rejection, from silence, from slow progress, from being seen as a beginner,
Learning to stay teaches me that avoidance has a cost, because what I refuse to face doesn’t disappear—it waits, gathers weight, and grows larger in the dark,
Learning to stay is training myself to face life without panicking, it’s about stopping every difficult feeling from being treated as an emergency that needs to be escaped.
Learning to stay makes me ask, what am I avoiding that could actually strengthen me if I stayed long enough to learn and to endure the process,
Learning to stay tells me, discomfort doesn’t dissolve who I am, it simply asks me to breathe, to just remain, and to let strength grow, that I can meet difficulty and still remain whole…

Deliberate motion is the second training: it’s the pause before action, the moment when I ask myself, “What’s the reason behind what I’m about to do?”
Deliberate motion is me refusing any careless movement—refusing to act maybe because I’m just pressured, provoked, or trying to prove something,
Deliberate motion is learning the difference between urgency and importance, between drama and duty, between reacting and responding,
Deliberate motion is also learning when not to act— when restraint is cleaner than performance, and silence is wiser than noise,
And deliberate motion makes me wonder if I slowed down, would I still choose the same action—or would I finally choose better distinctive choices,
But deliberate motion tells me I can act with intention, choosing each step carefully instead of surrendering to impulse…

Conscious consent is the third training, examining what I allow into truth-status before it earns my trust,
Conscious consent is noticing how quickly I believe a thought just because it’s loud— “they don’t like you”, “you’re behind”, “you’re not enough”, “you’ll fail anyway”,
Conscious consent is learning that my mind produces a some kind of impressions all day long, and I do not have to sign every one of them like a contract,
Conscious consent is choosing composure over spirals, choosing to examine the thought before it becomes a mood, before it becomes a week, and before it becomes a whole lifetime,
And conscious consent makes me ask, which thoughts have I been welcoming without question—ideas that now deserve a second look, and a steadier, more honest “no”,
But conscious consent teaches me that I can hold my mind with intention, welcoming only what aligns with my values, and letting the rest pass through without leaving a bruise…

Watchwords:
• Aim your wanting
• Stay with discomfort
• Act on purpose
• Question impressions
• Keep your mind clean
