The big, comfortable and beautiful coffee shop closest to my house has been established for about twenty years, which means that it was one of the first in the city to make the concept of a meeting place for tasting dishes, desserts and coffees fashionable.
It's the kind of café I love because it has a terrace overlooking one of the coolest avenues in the city, with a walkway shaded by large trees. Since it is on the road to my house, it is easy for me to park to buy bread, have a coffee at the bar and be on my way.
The cafeteria as such has three areas, the bakery area, deli and imported products of excellent quality, the variety of breads is large and very good tasting, so stopping there is a great pleasure.
The second space is more like a restaurant with a wide menu ranging from typical food, to international food focused on Italian cuisine, finding a variety of pastas, pasticho and pizzas.
The third space is the terrace. On Saturday I went with my friends to have a coffee there, but the truth is that it was so hot that we opted first for a cold and refreshing drink in the restaurant space that has air conditioning, the coffee if we asked to be served outside when the sun had already lowered a little and was blowing a cool breeze.
Anything new on the menu? No, they have added absolutely nothing and to be honest they have taken away, I mean we wanted to eat a pizza and there was none, we asked for a plate of “salteados” that they offer that combines chicken, meat and cheese, there was none either, the kind waiter offered us salty snacks, but the ones in the display case looked “old”.
I think that after the pandemic and some recovery of the Venezuelan economy, which has allowed the proliferation of so many modern cafeterias in our city, this one was retreating.
The truth is that it gives a certain sadness, because it is a place that has many advantages due to its privileged location and the quality of its products was excellent.
