I resonated :) I used to think it was such a hoot, this holiday, and while I still love dressing up, I've become a lot more mindful and aware of the implications of Halloween. I guess it's something that cements with age, because as kids, though afraid, we don't really understand that fear. Life, with its difficulties, makes you go "aha, so that's why I was terrified when I was 6".

Yes, that's the answer. For some reason, the terrifying aspects affected us as children, and now that we know part of the history behind it, we understand the meaning. But even so, I like the costumes, the decorations, the children's joy when they get their candy, and the fact that it's all in a safe environment supervised by adults. Thank you for your comment. ☕🎃
