With Kiara

Kiara and I went for lunch with her mom and Dad to a very cute place called the windmill.

It was in the Magaliesberg which is about a 45 minute drive outside of Johannesburg. We had a pleasant drive, listening to music and eventually arrived at this amazing place.

The area by the restaurant had lots of cool features such as a flea market which sold items such as books, leather goods, hunting knives and food and delicatessens such as fudge and cakes.

Walking up the stairs to the restaurant it was very cool that each stair had words written on it and was made to look as if it was a book cover.

Such a clever idea

At the windmill restaurant to drink I ordered A Coke zero and her dad ordered a strawberry milkshake.

COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE

Kiara had a cappuccino which came with a nice short bread biscuit.

Later in the day I had a take away cappuccino from Woolworths - which is the equivalent of a British Marks and Spencers.

Very enjoyable cappuccino

To eat we all ordered the Sunday roast which came with roast beef, roast potato, rice with raisins, cream spinach and pumpkin as well as a chicken thigh. The meal was excellent and delicious and the service in the restaurant was also extremely good.

The vegetables were also served so nicely

Afterwards Kiara and I walked The lawns and garden area to go exploring as well as had a look at the other sections of the flea market whilst her mom and dad also explored.

They had a farmers supermarket which sold local produce made by farmers so we all decided to stock up on some groceries getting veggies, fruit, meat and some other snack items. It was amazing because to fill up two crates of veggies and fruit only cost R400 which is roughly €20. This was about 1/5 of the price that it would usually cost at a normal supermarket.

It was great to get outside and go exploring and see somewhere new and the drive back was also fun. When we got back home we also went out for a cappuccino and just walked around a bit to get all steps in for the rest of the day.

What a lovely way to end the weekend.

A beautiful weekend! Please allow me to gush for a bit because... YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! What lovely soul-piercing eyes! And you both look like a couple from one of my novels! Ahhhhhhh! I ship! I SHIP!! And that was lovely plate. If not for the barrier of the screen and how you already made this post after it was gone, a hand would have snatched it from your table, literally!

Ah thank you so much for your comments and yes, I am a lucky man. My girlfriend is not only beautiful she is also a beautiful person. The food was outstanding and definitely warrants another visit to this lovely place in the country

That's a great looking Cafe. The book stairs idea is very clever. The whole place has a whimsical feel about it to me.

It was an incredible place to visit. So many different things to see and experience

Great idea not only to spend a nice weekend with loved ones but sharing a coffee or smoothie hehe.

I loved that bookish decoration of the staircase how nice that you took pictures for compe, it's very original!

Well worth the visit - very clever with the book covers

Hello Leelektrik,
My eyes popped when I saw the bookshelf staircase! That's so creative & unique, and it doesn't just add to the aesthetics, but I think it's fairly practical too.
Another thing, I'm not familiar with SA at all, and I found your comparison of Woolworths to M&S interesting. I know of Woolworth in the US, and there was also a version in Jamaica... I looked it up and learned much about the comparison and relation between the two:)
You always find a nice cappuccino somewhere 😋

Interesting to hear the price comparison from the farmers supermarket.

Thanks for popping by:)))

Yes that bookshelf staircase was so unique. Thanks for always commenting on my posts and encouraging me to do better.

Woolworths is amazing - as is M&S
