Yesterday, my good friend, admired colleague, respected and dear neighbor, Professor Benjamín Sánchez Mujica @besamu (pseudonym he adopted by the first two letters of his name and surnames) had a birthday and for me and my family it is a privilege to celebrate together with him his 79 years of age and fruitful existence. On the morning of my friend Benjamín's birthday, my wife and I got up early, we took a shower, then she made his breakfast, my son's and mine; After breakfast, my wife and son went to work, I stayed in the apartment and immediately prepared my friend Benjamín a surprise breakfast: two empanadas filled with banana, cheese and ground beef, coffee and a very thick strawberry juice and tasty, when everything was ready I called him and he, very happy, tasted his food at dawn.

Ayer, mi buen amigo, admirado colega, respetado y querido vecino, Profesor Benjamín Sánchez Mujica @besamu (seudónimo que adoptó por las primeras dos letras de su nombre y apellidos) estuvo de cumpleaños y para mi y mi familia es un privilegio celebrar junto a él sus 79 años de edad y fructífera existencia. En la mañana del cumpleaños de mi amigo Benjamín, mi esposa y yo nos levantamos temprano, nos bañamos, luego ella hizo su desayuno, el de mi hijo y el mío; terminado el desayuno, mi esposa y mi hijo se fueron a trabajar, yo me quedé en el apartamento e inmediatamente le preparé a mi amigo Benjamín un desayuno sorpresa: dos empanadas rellenas con plátano, queso y carne molida, café y un jugo de fresas bien espeso y sabroso, cuando todo estuvo listo lo llamé y él, muy contento, degustó su comida al despuntar el alba.

My friend Benjamin; was born in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara State - Venezuela on February 17, 1943. He did his first studies in his hometown, then moved to the capital city, Caracas, where he began his engineering studies at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) continuing them at the University of Michigan, United States (USA). My friend Benjamín or El Profe as we affectionately call him, also graduated in philosophy from the UCV, (mcl), did postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics in London and at the University of Barcelona in Spain. He obtained his master's degree in Philosophy of Science at the UCV and did his Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science at the University of Barcelona, Spain. Two years ago I made a semblance of my good friend @besamu from which I extract the text below. Semblance of a friend.

Mi amigo Benjamín; nació en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, Estado Lara - Venezuela el 17 de febrero de 1943. Sus primeros estudios los hizo en su ciudad natal, luego se trasladó a la ciudad capital, Caracas, donde comenzó sus estudios de ingeniería en la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) continuándolos en la Universidad de Michigan, Estados Unidos (EEUU). Mi amigo Benjamín o el Profe como cariñosamente lo llamamos, además, se licenció en filosofía en la UCV, (mcl), realizó estudios de postgrado en la London School of Economics en Londres y en la Universidad de Barcelona en España. Obtuvo su maestría en Filosofía de la ciencia en la UCV y realizó el doctorado en filosofía de la ciencia en la Universidad de Barcelona, España. Hace dos años realicé una semblanza de mi buen amigo @besamu de la cual extraigo el texto a continuación. Semblanza de un amigo.

The professor is a man with extensive professional experience in the area of teaching, research, and critical, logical, and analytical thinking. His outstanding academic-administrative activity began as Director of the Philosophy Institute of the UCV, in 1984-1986, then for nine consecutive years, from January 1991 to June 1999, he was Director of Postgraduate Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Education from the same University, on two occasions he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, 1999-2005, at which time he retired, but his work did not end because he immediately assumed the Directorate of International Relations of the Central University of Venezuela, for three years. Later he is coordinator of the Academic Committee of Postgraduate Philosophy (masters and doctorate) of the same university. In addition, he was occasional adviser to UNESCO for Latin America. He was a professor of logic and philosophy of science throughout his career in the different schools of his faculty; he was visiting professor of the doctorate in Architecture and in the doctorate of Physiological Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine; In addition, he taught classes in the doctorate of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, in the postgraduate course of the University of Zulia and in the Simón Rodríguez University. El profe es un hombre de extensa experiencia profesional en el área de la docencia, la investigación y el pensamiento crítico, lógico y analítico. Su destacada actividad académica y administrativa la inicia como Director del Instituto de Filosofía de la UCV, en 1984-1986, luego por nueve años consecutivos, desde enero de 1991 hasta junio de 1999, fue Director de Post Grado de la Facultad de Humanidades y Educación de la misma Universidad, en dos oportunidades fue electo Decano de la Facultad de Humanidades y Educación, 1999-2005, momento en el que se jubila, pero su trabajo no termina porque inmediatamente asume la Dirección de Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, por tres años. Posteriormente es coordinador del Comité Académico de los Posgrados de Filosofía (maestrías y doctorado) de la misma universidad. Además, fue asesor ocasional de la UNESCO para América Latina. Fue profesor de lógica y filosofía de la ciencia durante toda su carrera en las diferentes escuelas de su facultad; fue profesor invitado del doctorado en Arquitectura y en el doctorado de Ciencias Fisiológicas de la Facultad de Medicina; además, dictó clases en el doctorado de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales, en el posgrado de la Universidad del Zulia y en la Universidad Simón Rodríguez. My friend Benjamín's birthday celebration began the night before (February 16) when I made him one of the cakes he likes, the Tortalina, a cake made with the same mixture of wheat flour, brown paper and spices (cinnamon in branch and powder, cloves, guayabitas and star anise) with which the traditional black catalinas are made, highly appreciated by the Venezuelan palate.

La celebración del cumpleaños de mi amigo Benjamín comenzó la noche anterior (16 de febrero) cuando le elaboré una de las tortas que le gusta, la Tortalina, torta hecha con la misma mezcla de harina de trigo, papelón y especias (canela en rama y en polvo, clavos de olor, guayabitas y anis de estrella) con la cual se elaboran las tradicionales catalinas negras, muy apreciadas por el paladar del venezolano.

At the end of breakfast we had a black coffee with a rich aroma and unmistakable decaffeinated flavor, then we stayed talking in a pleasant way for a while until it was time to say goodbye. At the end of the meeting, I sent a sincere prayer to God to grant good health and years of life to my friend, colleague and neighbor Benjamín Sánchez Mujica @besamu .

Al terminar el desayuno nos tomamos un café negro con rico aroma e inconfundible sabor descafeinado, luego nos quedamos conversando de manera amena por un rato hasta que llegó la hora de despedirse. Al terminar la reunión elevé una oración sincera a Dios para que le conceda mucha salud y años de vida a mi amigo, colega y vecino Benjamín Sánchez Mujica @besamu.
