Well, you may have already seen some photos of the place that we visited last week, but let’s now go to the main topic of the post - coffee.
We decided to buy a different coffee this time - Jacobs Barista editions. This was a coffee that we used to buy all the time before we started buying from Dabov Specialty Coffee. Jacobs is cheaper and lower class coffee, and as we didn’t know what the coffee machine at the guest house was going to be, this was a reasonable choice. We really didn’t want to sacrifice our tasty coffee on an improper machine.
To our surprise, there was an espresso machine available and it wasn’t that bad at all. I think the coffee matched really well this exact coffee maker and, to be fair, we wasn’t expecting to get brilliant results from them.
The coffee didn’t have fancy flavor, nothing fruitful and exclusive. The main flavors here are maybe chocolate and some nuttiness, more towards the traditional coffee flavor that all the people are familiar with. Maybe the roast was darker than what I’m used to and the overall mouthfeel was a bit harsh. This coffee isn’t really that bad at all and it’s very drinkable to my taste. That was not the opinion of my wife though… She didn’t like this coffee at all and she also didn’t finish one of the cups that I prepared. Maybe the exclusiveness of the Dabov Specialty Coffee is addicting and once you go with the specialty coffee it’s harder to go back to the ordinary ones. At least the atmosphere to enjoy our coffee was great and peaceful.
Well, we are back home now and we are gladly enjoying the new delivery of Dabov Specialty Coffee. One of the best picks and a coffee that I really wanted to buy is Space Blend - a mix of exclusive coffees from Africa, Central and Latin America and this coffee was released with reference to the International day of human space flight -12th April. I’m happy that I managed to get the Space Blend because just one day after completing my order the coffee was out of stock.
I think that the founder of Dabov Specialty Coffee is a fan of the space exploration and the open universe, because they have stickers with astronaut in a coffee cup from the beginning of the coffee company.
This coffee mix is from the exclusive black labeled collection that is supposed to be better and more balanced than the brown and red label coffees. The black labeled coffees are also not so fruitful but you can still find some interesting fruit notes in the overall flavor.
Of course I ordered the coffee for V60 filter which is the best and most aromatic way to start your morning.
Jordan Dabov has decided that the best roast level for this coffee is Medium-Light. I really like my coffees to be light in the level of roast ones, but this darker roast will definitely give one step of a greater complexity and richness of the coffee.
Overall taste of this Space Blend combines some notes of Vanilla, Tropical fruits and Milk Chocolate but fruitiness is not very intensive. Yet the whole product is very complex and rich in flavor.
I really like red labeled and fruitful coffees, but this exclusive black labeled blend is very interesting too. Definitely a good choice to try and enjoy some different flavor. And yes, this coffee can easily send you in space, as all the other coffees found by Jordan Dabov all around the world.

There is no doubt that a good coffee on Saturday next to a pool and a sun like that is the best idea for a nice weekend.
I wish that this was my Saturday routine every week. Someday I may have a nice house with such a beautiful garden and enjoy my coffee there. Well, dreams are free, right? 😁

All the different varieties of coffee provide too much choice for me - I haven't found too many coffees that I don't like yet, so I'm always wanting to try new blends. I enjoy vanilla so would give this a shot for sure.

This coffee company originates here in Bulgaria and the founder goes all arounfdthe world to find and pick the best available coffees. I dont think you’ll be able to find them anywhere else. Dabov Specialty Coffee has shops in Czech Republic and Spain too, but I really don’t know many details about these shops out of Bulgaria.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking that they might not have outlets here in Africa, such a pity, would be lovely to try them. I guess I'll have to put it on my list of things to find when I go to Bulgaria on holiday. We don't have coffee merchants here that are that expansive.
It’s a real pity that you don’t have access to these tasty coffees, goven the fact that one of the best coffees originate from Africa. I also heard that the people in Kenya, for instance, don’t have Cafeterias and places where you can enjoy their best products. Almost all of the exclussive production is being exported.
That is so true and it happens here as well in South Africa where all of our top quality fruit goes to the UK, we get the second tier quality stuff. Kinda backwards isn't it.
We get some Kenyan coffee here and it's damn awesome is what it is! A few years ago I found a shop in Robertson that roasts their own blends from all over the world and I bought four different types for my mom who loved coffee even more than I do. The place seems to do something similar described Dabov does.
I would love to have and promote my own coffee brand but I'd probably drink most of it before it sells 🤣
I am thinking the same too. I want to own some place and make a business with coffee. Maybe some cozy cafè where you can enjoy a nice cup of specialty coffee. Right now there isn’t such a place in my town. Well, the risk of drinking most of the coffee myself is real! 😁

It must be so nice to be back home to enjoy your favourite brand. This one looks great, and I also like coffee with hints of vanilla.
I think you made a sensible decision to go for a cheaper brand for your holiday.
The weather promises to be great here tomorrow and in the next coming days. I've been busy doing laundry and hanging them outside, so if they don't fully dry today, then tomorrow for sure.

Vanilla really gives some pretty delicate touch to the overall taste.
Getting the cheaper coffee really was a good choice. During the day, when I’m not at home, I happen to drink some very messy coffees, so this one was a lot better compared to some other available coffees. My wife, on the other side, didn’t enjoy the Jacobs coffee at all. 😁
